Name: Calithiel
Title: Angel of Mana
History:There are many gods in the universe, and most have their own chosen servants. These most often come in the form of angels. Calithiel is one such servant, for one such god. The Darksun Goddess has long been watching earth with keen interest. She has been keeping a careful track of the unending conflict of good and evil, silently waiting to see what path humanity takes. Over time, she slowly grew dissappointed with humanity, finally deciding that it was time to give the people of earth the guidance they required. To this end, the Darksun Goddess sent one of her angels: Calithiel.
Calithiel is one of the "youngest" angels in service to the Darksun Goddess at a mere four centuries old, but she has shown to be one with incredible raw power. Though she wields power on a scale that matches some of the most ancient of Archangels, her inexperience makes it wild and unpredictable. She lacks the finesse and refined control that her superiors have, and this has often lead to her losing battles in her training. To further her training and refine her natural talents, she has been sent to earth to represent the will of the Darksun.
Appearance: Calithiel appears much like the traditional angel would. She appears as a pale skinned woman, with long, flowing white hair. Her eyes glow pure white when she is calm, and turn into a deep purple fiery glow when she is in combat. She wears minimal clothing, typically white or light blue in color, with trim and accents in gold. The most notable difference is that while most angels are depicted with two wings, Calithiel has four.
Powers
Angel of Mana: Calithiel posses the ability to shape and manipulate magic of all forms, and in particular Holy magic, on a massive scale. She can do this with a mere thought, and can shape it into powerful blasts, shields of light, and anything else she can think of. Furthermore, she is always surrounded by an aura of holy energy, passively comforting and bolstering her allies, and working to weaken and dishearten her foes.
Healing Hands: As a gift from her Goddess, Calithiel has the ability to heal grievous wounds, cure diseases, and purge toxins from some one. She can cure nearly any wound short of death in a matter of moments. However, bringing back the dead is expressly forbidden and as such is beyond her abilities. Additionally, this ability is meant to be given, not kept to herself. She can only heal another with her powers, and is unable to heal her own wounds.
Angelic Fortitude: Her inability to heal herself is mitigated by the fact that being an angel makes her naturally resilient. Her physical form is impervious to most forms of conventional weaponry, though it can still be harmed if subjected to overwhelming force. She is also naturally immune to diseases and poisons of all sorts.
Telepathy: Calithiel possesses a limited form of telepathy, allowing her to communicate with other angels and mortals through thought alone. However, she can be shut out quite easily, and can't communicate with any mortal that does not wish to hear what she has to say. Angels that are more powerful than her can shut her out, while angels that are less powerful than her are unable to.
Teleportation: Calithiel can instantly teleport herself from one location to another, with a nearly infinite range. However, she is bound by certain rules with this power. She cannot use this power to enter a building or home without permission from some one with the proper authority. In addition, using this ability expends a massive amount of energy and cannot be used multiple times in succession without leaving Calithiel exhausted.
Truesight: Another innate ability thanks to her heritage, Calithiel can see through any illusions or other form of deception. She can see the true form of whatever she views, despite any attempts to disguise or hide it. Furthermore, she has the ability to sense the true intentions of those around her and can tell if they are lying to her. She can immediately recognize any demon or angel on sight, and this extends to people with angelic or demonic blood.
Astral Form: Should Calithiel's physical form be destroyed she will revert to her astral form. While in this form her powers are greatly reduced, and it is nearly impossible for her to have any meaningful effect on the world around her. She is still able to communicate telepathically, but can only convey basic feelings and impressions. While in this form it is nearly impossible to harm or affect her in any way, though it can be dispersed though magical or supernatural means. While in this form it will take her quite some time to gather her strength and reform her physical self. Dispersing her astral form will slow this process down significantly.
Untouched by Time: The flow of time holds little meaning to the divine. As such, Calithiel never ages. Furthermore, abilities that manipulate the flow of time will be ineffective on her, as she doesn't flow with the normal timestream as it is. While this does mean it is possible to travel forawrd or backward in time, Calithiel would be unable to do so without the help of her kin, due to the extensive effort and preparation doing so would require.
Equipment
Halo: The most basic of her gear, Calithiel's Halo appears as a ring of orbiting saphire colored gems just above her head. The halo generates a protective barrier around her, turning away strikes before they land and absorbing the brunt of spells or energy attacks sent her way.
Manabound Spear: This is Calithiel's personal weapon, forged by her own hands and bound to her using ancient rituals, this spear is as much a part of her as it is a weapon. The spear can act as a focus for Calithiel's power, able to be infused with holy energy. The spear itself is nearly indestructible, though not completely so. Should Calithiel ever be disarmed she can simply call her spear back to her by holding out her hand. Should anyone else try to steal her weapon and use it without her consent the spear will blaze with an intense holy fire, searing anyone attempting to wield it.
Weaknesses
Magic: Angels and Demons have been at war since the dawn of creation and the Darksun Angels are no exception. Just as nearly all demons are weak to Holy powers, the opposite is also true. Calithiel is paticularly vulnerable against beings that can match her strength with unholy energy. To a much lesser extent, other magical and supernatural effects are far more effective at harming her than other conventional means. It should be noted that in most instances only the magical version of effects will apply. For example, magical fire will be harmful to her, even though ordinary flames are not. There are numerous rituals and spells that have been created by demons that deal specifically with banishing or imprisoning Angels, or simply inflicting direct harm to them.
Anti-magic: As the Angel of Mana, Calithiel is fused with the forces of magic. Anything with the ability to negate or limit it's flow will severely weaken her, and in some cases even render her powerless.
Celestial/Infernal Forged Weapons: The forces of heaven and hell have long since perfected weaponry that can destroy their chosen foe. Any weapons that were created by one side or the other have the innate ability to bypass Calithiel's natural resilience and can harm her like they would any ordinary person.
Bound By Grace: Calithiel's sole purpose is to uphold and enact the will of her Goddess. Should she ever disobey in her duties or rebel in her purpose, she will immediately become Fallen. Her powers will be immediately stripped from her, her wings will turn black, and she will instantly become mortal. There are no exceptions, no warnings, and no second chances.
Manaburn: The Angel of Mana's greatest strength is also her greatest weakness. While she is able to wield vast amounts of power, it does not come without cost. Her lack of experience and wild style of fighting often lead to harmful feedback, or Manaburn. The more power and energy Calithiel expends at once the greater risk she poses to herself. Her physical form is unable to handle the stress placed on it when Calithiel channels too much power at once, and runs the risk of tearing itself apart as the magic cascades out of control.
