There may be villains that I personally like better, but if I'm being honest, then there's no doubt about it:

Lex Luthor:

They were both a bit underwhelming. Neither did the comics justice. But the animated movie was a little bit better.

There's also the animated movie: Green Lantern - Emerald Knights.

I will repeat what I said in my review, the whole reboot is completely missing the point.

The execution was great. It is a thousand times better than Justice League. Very emotional, good storytelling, awesome art. If you know nothing about Earth-2, you will have a blast.

But in reality, the entire idea of rebooting Earth-2 is stupid and lame. Earth-2 was always about staying in continuity with the Golden Age. It was about paying an homage to these original versions of the characters, the ones who originated it all. That is why in both Crisis and Infinite Crisis, the real hero turns out to be Earth-2 Superman, out of respect for the character, the first superhero and the origin of the entire DCU. Earth-2 and the JSA are also at the center of the idea of legacy and passing the torch in the DCU, through Infinity Inc or John's JSA or Robinson's Starman.

With this reboot, all of that is now gone. We are back to de-aged unmarried generic superheroes with no sense of legacy (so basically what we already have on rebooted New Earth) or homage to DC's past.

It is just a waste of a great concept. DC and Robinson are completely missing the point here and coming from Robinson, the guy who wrote Starman, a book that was entirely about a son trying to live up to his father's legacy while becoming his own man, it is very disappointing.

Indeed.

So I just got this game in the mail today, and I went to test it and dang! What a fan-freaking-tastic game! I was pleasantly surprised. The only Thunder Force game I had played previous was a demo of Thunder Force V on PS1 (which was fun as hell, and HIGH on my wantlist). I was expecting the same side-scrolling shoot-em up formula (albeit with some twists here and there) that Thunder Force V had. Instead I find a free-roaming shoot-em up. What an awesome concept! Why don't other games use this formula? And it's dirt cheap to boot!

I can tell this gonna be one of my favorites. I only played it for a few minutes, but I'm sure I'll have a blast when I actually set aside some time for some real gaming time.

My only question about it is: What's with those stupid walls? How do you get past them? The only thing I could figure was to just run through it and sacrifice a ship in the process, but I know that can't be right. What am I supposed to do to get past them?

Sooo....the JSA is not gonna be the first generation of super-heroes, they're gonna be the next-generation of super-heroes?

...Huh?!

Doesn't that pretty much take the whole appeal of the JSA away from them? The idea that they were the first, they paved the way for the other heroes who look up to them. The whole appeal of the legacies they've established. None of that exists now.

I'm not happy with this change, but it's it's still too soon for me to abandon the book. I'm gonna see where this ride takes me for now because I've followed the JSA characters for so many years now.

As for Words' Finest, meh. It was alright, but if this book doesn't pick up soon, I see it being cut from pull-list. The only thing that really has my attention is trying to figure out who the guy was that we couldn't make-out in the middle of the boom-tube. I'm assuming he invaded Earth-2 as Power Girl and Huntress/Robin when sucked to New-Earth.

Your thoughts?

No one at all? Really? I remember when that was an essential part of this hobby.

Comic Book Trading, Anyone Interested?

I've done this successfully over at www.comiccollectorlive.com where I'm a moderator, as well as www.RacketBoy.com and www.GameTZ.com. I'm hoping I can get the ball rolling here, as well.

The honor system would be in place. But there are also a few other things we use to help things go more smoothly with trades. We have a thread where traders provide feedback about the trade that everyone can see. We found that using Delivery Confirmation (which is only a measly 75 cents) insures a bit more confidence in trades. And describing the condition of items before completing a trade is a MUST!

If anyone is interested in this, post a reply letting us know, so everyone knows who to hit up. And if you're interested in trading with me, personally, message me and I'll give you my available list and want list. I have 80s-current DC, Marvel, & Image comics and comics cards and posters available to trade.

I love both of them. Two of the greatest comic villains of all time. Right now, however, I'd probably pick Thanos because I've been buying up the original Thanos issues from the 70s, recently. And I just re-read Thanos Quest, Infinity Gauntlet & Infinity War, which are fantastic reads.

@Jnr6Lil: Yeah, I've been watching it every week since beginning of april and watching old episodes online. I think TNA has a lot of great talent now, whether its guys who started in TNA or were in WWE previously. Christian is more than a good wrestler, he can easily entertain and pull of good promos as a face and a heel. He just needs his time to prove it, just like edge did. Everyone thought he'd always be a mid-carder but once he was given that massive push he proved he was a maineventer. Christian can do the same, imo.

+1

Christian has a lot of great talent, it's unfortunate that he's had to perform in the shadow if his ex-tag team partner Edge ,that's the only thing that's been holding him back, IMO. He has a lot of the same talents Jericho did earlier in his career.
