It's like in Castaway when Tom Hanks starts thinking the volley ball (Wilson) is real and starts talking to it. He even cried when the ball floated away into the ocean. Xorn became that for Xavier.
It's up to interpretation. To me Jean/Xorn was just a creation made by Xavier Jr. Hence she couldn't take off her mask for long (Xavier's TP created face). She was just a suit being held together and controlled by Xavier Jr.'s telekinesis. Why did he pick Jean? because he knew they would easily welcome and trust her.
Jean killed herself before DP took over and she is still dead. This young Jean had not done any of that. All she's done is use her powers like any teen with powers would esp a passionate girl. I do find myself tuning in every issue to see what Jean gets up too.
Good to know Jean Grey pushes people's emotions. That is why she is the star of All New X-Men. People spend energy making threads like these keep them coming.
Wolverine was so over the top. Jean is young and handling this better than I thought Bendis would write her. She'll evetually come around and help the two Scotts.
Phoenix Endsong starring Jean sold pretty well (in the top 5) and the first two issues sold out. They tried to repeat the success with Phoenix Warsong that didn't included Jean and it flopped. Hope Summers had Generation Hope which was canceled due to low sales.
