I don't think they're rip offs of each other. There's enough differences. I think writers just start running out of superpowers to use. Like Plastic Man/Elongated Man/Mr. Fantastic. I guess what really matters is which character is written better.
@Yung ANcient One: I think anyone that read R.I.P. could've called it. Now I wonder when we'll find out why there was a clone.
