I think one origin said he was an Apokoliptian device left behind by Mr. Miracle that grew into a villain. Would love to see perhaps another similar change in where Chang Tzu was perhaps a Chinese scientist who got captured for conversion into an Apokoliptian C&C unit only to survive with his personality intact.
