This post made me stop lurking. None of my friends are nerdy enough...so...
I thought it was very good (8 or 9/10). What made it from being excellent (10) was Blake's bs "I've seen that look before and you're batman" talk with Bruce. lol wut? I get we are trying to hit on Tim here (like "hothead" hit on Jason/Terry), but could we please give a real world explanation, like "I used the police computers to do some digging, Wayne Enterprises, once the top of the world in new tech, with a huge R&D department, yet hasn't produced anything for x years. And Bruce Wayne disappears the day the Bat did, etc"? I also get were are trying to establish some common ground between mentor and successor, but we could have done both in that amount of time (that scene felt long to me...).
I can get over the bomb radius, Bane croaking off-screen, Batman getting back into Gotham, the back healing perfectly, the leeroy jenkins charge, and all the other things that i can't remember.I really did like Batman fighting Bane in the light of day, hand-to-hand, showed how screwed up everything was in Gotham at that point in time. I liked the (kinda cheesy) "Robin" moment. I thought Bane's voice was fine to understand, though a couple lines he said sounded funny (more about how he stressed/toned his words). The first Bat vs Bane fight was brutal, and done really well (I flinched!). Speaking of Bane, I hated his guts because he was pwning hard in the first half of the movie (aka, good job being a evil bastard!). I liked the little nod to Holly. I went in thinking I would hate catwoman, but she surprised me. I liked Jim and the other cops using the bat chalk symbol. I like the fire bat symbol, even though its a ludicrous thing to do, because Bane had done such a good job a destroying everything by then. I liked Scarecrow's cameo, lulz.
On the side note, there were some rumours of an Adam West cameo. I didn't see it - it didn't happen did it? Other than not being able to get rid of a bomb (LOL).
HOPEFULLY we can get some Oscar love. This is the second crack at it with a serious, really good superhero movie. Heath started it, I'm hoping we get another big award or two.
