So, I broke down last night and bought the first three issues of this comic. DAMN! It was awesome, and really makes me miss the old Elseworlds graphic novels.
I have got to say ... this XP and leveling system with achievements on this website is awesome. I've been reading news here for a while, and never really noticed it.
Well, I may be a dolt, but I think the Green Lantern mythos has grown too "epic".
I miss the days when he was just a space cop. I really don't like the Jesus Christ persona Hal has now. I really don't like the long ongoing stories. I miss the one shots that were just fun to read. I think the rainbow of different corps is pretty dumb too.
I think it is just an example of the disconnect in DC stories in general. Earth seems petty and dull compared to all the events in GL - until you act like GL doesn't exist. Then the DC universe is cool again.
I love Hal, but he died and should have stayed dead.
The point in a reboot is to look forward. Let them flesh their stories out over time. It has been a little over a year since the New 52 occurred. Some writers are handling it better than others. Some editors are handling it better than others. Just buy the issues you enjoy, and read the reviews on the ones you think you might. It is entertainment. If you aren't being entertained then it sounds like you should stop reading New 52 comics. Fan boys suck!
