You know what, i think i see the cause of our debate.
In my previous discussion with Cezar, i inferred a certain meaning of the word mature in the context that we were using it, and in our discussion i've kept to that inferred meaning without realizing it might not be what you mean exactly when you use the word.

So to make it explicit - Mature, in the way i've been using it; refers to a certain type of content in which many graphic or taboo subjects are central. These include nudity, perversions and sexual themes; violence and gore; drug use and frequent cursing.
When i think of mature content, i think of, say, The Boys by garth ennis.

LOL Really?
Do you think at WW power level that if she actually raped anyone they would be able to report it?
This kinda reminds of a joke about superman, wonder woman and the invisible man.

Omega, i'm not quite understanding you. Whats the difference between saying one word is synomynous with another and saying one word is code for another?

It was an interesting question though, i never would have thought her virginity would be an issue. But then i've not read much of wonder woman.

Are you sure the term modern is synonymous with mature?

To me, to "modernize" something is to merely change the way something is portrayed, as to be relevant for a new generation, not to change the content that is portrayed.
For example, the difference between the Captain Marvel of the golden age and the Spiderman of the silver age. Both were all-ages superhero tales but at the time of spidermans release, it was very modern in comparison to the older titles. Neither title though, contains anything that could be called mature by either the standards of then or the standards of today.

I'm just really interested in the retail side of things and was wondering if anyone here could tell me a little.
I'm also thinking about getting work in a store and would enjoy any stories of how you got employed=]

When it comes to the modern price of a comic, i always thought warren ellis's attempt with Fell to lower the average cost of an issue was a heroic one.

HAHAHA This topic has officially been derailed.
But honestly though, i would never have thought that wonder woman being a virgin would play such popular role in her canonity.

You "need"  porn in your comics?  Maybe, you need a therapist. :p
Now i see the :p and I'm savvy enough to infer you speak with a bit of jest but if i misjudge, please chalk it up to Net-Speak inexperience.
My point is though, I don't understand why you had to quote and bold the word need. I didn't say or imply i needed porn or any form of mature content in a comic, what i like in comics is variety, not conformity.

Some days i' "want" an all-ages tale, so i go out and buy one. Typically i will try to buy a quality comic and if my choice reflects the choices of many other people, that title will become Mainstream (if not so already). Other days though i "want" a mature comic, so i go out and buy one. Like before, if the comic i buy is also bought by a great deal of other people, it will become Mainstream.

You'll find popular, Mainstream titles that reflect many different types of material or content, and to expect them all to reflect any specific one is ignorant of the rest of the community who buy comics.
Even if you believe that what the majority of people want is all-ages - the truth is in the numbers. if you see alot of titles containing mature content, well shit, i guess thats what people want.

Btw, one last point. If i wanted a porn comic, why would i need a therapist? I like porn mate, in any medium, and if you wanted to split hairs about what type of material is good for the industry then let me tell you something...

There is NOTHING more popular than porn.
