This is going to be a shot blog tingy today. was cleaning all day so am pretty tired. also i really want to read more of the godfather. such a good book.
my question for everyone is in a world where there are more batman ongoing then you can shake a stick at which one is keeping you comming back and why. and just for fun what is your least favoriter
no surprises here batman and robin has been my favorite. grant morrosion knows what hes doing. his work here and on superman is amazing and can really tella gret story (though sometimes batman and robin can be a little bit confusing had. to re-read a couple pages once or twice. but maybe im dumb.
least favorite i gotta say batman confidential. but maybe its because i didn't like that "batman vs the undead storyline. maybe ill give it another chance.
review up from the new superman issue. give it a read. spoiler: didnt really like it.
i don't really have too too much to add on this one. i did finish superman red son today. i might i say the last issue was amazing. twist after twist. but in a good way. not that m night shyamalan kinda way. if you even like superman a bit you should really check it out. and like i said a few days ago: soviet batman. which is apprently named Batmankoff. which is pretty sweet.
also just watched all the Halloween shows on fox. wasn't bad. but its still weird having a Halloween night a week after Halloween. but i guess the world series MIGHT do better ratings.....maybe.
now the big question is what to read next. maximum carnage or power girl volume 1? suggestions?.....?.......?

i was going to put it in the review but i wanted to focus on the book itself but anyway.
to repeat myself i love zatanna and i love that comic series. after seeing bits and pieces of her in batman book (and the great animated series) i picked it up on a whim and found myself going through the first 3 issues in one sitting. its an easily approachable series with a very likable character. whats surprised me is how i got into it at all. im not a big fan of supernatural stuff. yes i love superheroes but the occult and magic i just never really found interesting. i still dont . but i think they way its presented in that book is great. having a strong female lead also helps.
And Backwords Writing! who knew id get so good at that....
There really isnt much of a big point in this blog today. more a blurb about the review!
though i do have a question. anyone read any of the other zatanna limited series (like the seven soldiers stuff) is it worth reading or not? lemme know!

speaking of the new zatanna issue i hated waiting over a month for the ending of the current stroyline. it almost killed me.

A quick little story. i purchased the absolute edition of crisis on infinite earths (a $100 plus later) and after brining it over and showing my roomate he says "why'd ya buy that i have a copy of crisis upstairs".......shit. o well at least it looks cool on top of what is essentially my video game shelf (which i may post a picture as a feeble attempt of boasting). just a random story as i dont have much to talk about.
In other news i just purchased the new professor layton from amazon. seems pretty cool. though because i chose "super saver" shipping ill wait till the end of next week....lame . also expect a review of the new zatanna if not in a few minutes tomorrow for my blog day 4!
Also im toying of the idea of having a weekly video of some kind. or a monthly well put together review. but im not sure. i just dont want to be "generic guy in from of webcam talking about shit no one cares about", im fine with guy writing about stuff no one cares about though...

My Emence reading of superman was quite a surprise to myself. Like many other people i didn't understand what there was to like. he seemed too powerful. too cliched. too boring. my naive thoughts keep me away from the man of steel for quite a bit. i really regret those thoughts now. i started on a whim when i decided to purchase the first volume of all-star superman. even before i finished that volume i had an uncontrollable urge to get that second volume. what grant Morrison did with superman is truly amazing. if your a superman hater you have to read it and you will change your mind i promise. after ASS i purchased quite a bit of superman trades to get better acquainted with the character and learned there is a lot more too it then what you may perceive.
but im were talking about thew good of Superman today. no no no. were talking about the not so good. of course i mean the current superman storyline grounded. i'm sure if your here you can easily read what the arc is about. but essentially after new krypton is destroyed along with his people..again. superman decided to re-discover himself by walking across america. this mooppy superman isn't the superman i want to see. but what gets me is the truly out of character actions of superman in the recent issues. now i could have probably had this as a review of superman 703 which is the one that pissed me off the most. but that would mean i8 still wouldnt have a blog for today so this is the format im doing. also. tis is more of a rant then a review. not to spoil anything too much but the first few pages of that issue have superman threatening to drop a stalker if he bothers a girl again. since when did superman become batman? this gross mischaracterazation is just too awful to ignore. and if i, someone who is basically a Superman newbie can see that i think theres a problem (and i dont even have time to get into dick Grayson talking like Bruce Wayne in on the very next page). but more then point i think superman wondering aimlessly in america takes away a lot of the charm form the book. now maybe in the end ill be totally wrong as the writers have some big epic story planned. but right now im just reading through what is a not too great storyline for sups. i sit here with superman 704 by my side and its labeled as a "grounded interlude" which i believe just slows things down even more so. but well see. expect a review. albeit probably a short one.
well that was a bit more ranty then expect but im kinda doing these on the fly so you might wanna expect that.
well feel free to bitch me out for the rant of my grammer or whatever and expect something a little more lax tomorrow also will be proof read. this..totally wasn't. sorry

....Anyway for anyone who still pays attention to this. I HAVE A NEW LAPTOP. took two months but i finally have a stable internet source. gaming laptop too. but more importantly (kinda) ill be able to be part of the comic vine community again. that means blog a day will actually start soon. and to make sure i actually do it its going to start this week. no later then sunday...i promise.
i dont know if youll get reviews for it but i did recently read the newest action comics in its non-action state. which begs the question how do YOU feel about this. are you liking it or waiting for issue 900?
In other comic book quips i have like 4 issues of the new wonder woman to read. i still dont know if im liking the new direction but im really hoping it gets better in the issue i haven't read.
Though now i am going to eat. expect more verrry soon.

first off. sorry ive been really lazy when it comes to reviews and blog posts. making a good first impression huh?
but that will change. im going to challenge myself. one review or blog post a day. ill try to keep them mostly comic book related but ya never know. theyll range from quick update to full retrospectives. im going to at least try one retrospective a week. maybe have it every sunday. im going to do all-star superman so expect that sunday.
Also due to my recent laziness im going to hold off my review of batman and robin and just do a big long one for all three issues of this arc. dont know if that will count as a "retospective" or not
on an unrelated note. ive had my apartment basically to myself albeit a few visits from friends. its nice to have a quite night at hime with no distractions (more time to read comics. am i right people? yes this is the life i chose)
Spider-man: shattered dimensions has been unplayed in my ps3 all week. i planned on playing that today but did not get around to that. im about half way through. hows everyone finding that game. i like it. the story is dumb but i think the gameplay is mostly refined. plus NPH as amazing spiderman. fuck yea.
speaking of NPH. also watched an episode of "glee" for the first time today which Neil Patrick Harris happened to be on. they sang a cool cover of Dream On. actually most of the songs were good. im a sucker for music. now the show itself i didnt like. seemed kinda boring.

Now I'm not going to pretend I'm a professional reviewer or blogger. i do it mas a hobby and mainly for fun (though i do like when people enjoy my writtings. on any level. if you love to hate I'm good with that too) in saying this there are certain things at least i know that i hate when reading a review and i plan to try to avoid for the most part.
First thing i plan to avoid is big long summary of the story. i find this incredibly pointless. its pointless if you already read the comics because hell you already know what happened. and if you havent read the comic you dont want to know what happens either.now discussing the plot elements is one thing but going into details on the story is a bit silly to me.
Speaking of details im going to try to avoid nit-picking for the most part. this is mainly for the more light heated comics i review (like Gotham city sirens: Batgirl) but goes for the others as well. tiny things that dont take away too much from the overall story and minor continuity issues wont normally be featured in my reviews. like ive said before i dont try to take my comic book reading too seriously. if i enjoy it it gets a good review. i find too many people take away from their own enjoyment by nit-picking. and becuse i dont normally do that it wont be in my reviews. now if i can take a humourous twist on anything like that you know i will break that rule.
Also i dont normally talk about any sneak previews,editorials or anything like that. but like stated above. if i can put some humor into any of it you may see it. if not. prolly not
I could probably go on a bit more but those are the main things.
