I'm not going to trust some random person on reddit. This sounds like click bait to create more press about a movie that already had to much press with very little to show so far.

Not in the least, Batman is far worse as both a Mary Sue and deus ex machina.

@nite_nite: Not upset at all, I just can't see your point of view because to me you speak of collectives where the actions of one is the action of all, where if it happens to a few it effects all. I just have never understood that collective mindset because I cherish individualism so much. There is problems in America no doubt with poverty and racism but you act as if the only people that suffer from that are black people and black people can be the only ones wanting to break this uroboros. The thing I have stated from the very start is that no one should have a preconceived mindset when it comes to people, let alone people who want this cycle to end as much as others.

The heinous crimes you speak of where collectively done by a group of individuals, Each one should be judged on there part of it. Yet it seems you do not want to see it that way, You want everyone to be held accountable even if they had nothing to do with it or agree with what has happened.

Yeah chances are you do pass people that had racist ancestors but once again you should not act as if they should pay for the sins of there fathers and forefathers. I think the more metropolitan places you go, white people know they have had biases go in there favor in the past and are helping to change that, sometimes to the extreme where they want people to have guilt over something they could of never changed.

Again you read fabrication and not in the context it was placed in the sentence, You are purposely misrepresenting my points.

I don't know what to think of your last line because I don't think you indented to sound as if you support another civil war.

@nite_nite: Okay so what I have established here is you do not understand what the word rhetorical means, but that is besides the point because its like every time I blatantly tell you that I have never said you are wrong. You still project or somehow find a way to say I did, dude this is a debate of opinions, so if you feel somehow me civilly challenging your opinions as you have mine, is saying your wrong, then how strong can your convictions be?

Where do I say I feel your pointing me out, because you never actually point out individuals you only point out collectives. It's Cubans, Russians, Blacks, Whites you only speak in collectives. The issue I have with you is that you seem to think, Unless a person is part of a collective you deem accepted, To use ideals from an individual that some how there opinions or mind set is part of the greater problem. Its just the blame game to you, I don't deny anything there is problems in the world. Racism is one, poverty is a contributing factor to racism and they need to be solved but you can not solve these problems by creating reason and fabrications as to why another person can not want to work to achieve this goal due to them being apart of a collective you deem bad, You should be looking at that persons actions and character to see if you accept or dismiss them.

But if you still feel that I'm a problem message me because this thread is now full of posts not relating to the topic.

@nite_nite:Nope never was using MLK against you, I was simply talking about the state of North America and how his message has been lost in this new world we live in where identity politics have become the norm and the what is more important then who, at least that is how many media outlets would want people to think. My original statement where I used Dr. Kings dream was not directed at you it was a rhetorical question and I thought I made that clear.

Those other groups are in America as well, the country like Canada is a melting pot just because people come to a country does not mean the mindset of there past culture changes so if someone is racist in Japan or India they will be in America or Canada. What you seem to be wrapped up in is a use vs them mentality and because other people are suffering but it doesn't involve you then its okay for them to suffer. I don't really know where you heard the internet saying all this shit about Steve Harvey, because the comments on youtube ( Yeah the worst place on earth with comments) video seem to be rather sympathetic to the runner up and the worst I think I saw was someone called Harvey " A dick brain" whatever that is. With people saying " Why it was an honest mistake".

Under no way was I using Dr. King against you, I already covered that. I have researched both civil rights leaders, it was part of my schooling, So I do know that Dr. King did have some of Malcolm X's views on certain topics, With that said Malcolm X is one of the better figures of showing how views can change over time with maturity, from his beginnings in the Nation of Islam to his return from Mecca or him traveling abroad you see the growth of a human being as well as his delivery system for his messages. It still was as every bit as in your face but the anger had subsided, it's unfortunate that many US schools don't want to teach that part of Malcolm to the masses. From what I have heard he is often though of as an extremist. You project and assume I'm doing things I'm not, It was a rhetorical question that people should have to face in there lives. It's not directed at anyone directly. There are good and bad types of reactionary and unfortunately they both start as quick. The problem is some individuals are reactionary in a way that hurts there own arguments, point of views and causes. I'm sure you have seen that in yourself.

Once again you are projecting your feelings of others onto me, then taking my words out of context. You are not talking to someone who is a collective, your just talking to an individual as I am with you. Nowhere did I call you wrong or black people wrong, All I have said is Dr. King had a moment in speech of free thought that most likely made many uncomfortable at the time, yet it transcended into something larger and that everyone should look at themselves and say am I living that dream. In fact Jesus's messages of peace would be much the same transcending color or religion for that matter.

See I don't agree with your closing statement. You can't fix a problem without coming together with other like minded people to work for a common goal. You don't separate the problems by saying this is a black problem or a white problem or a Jewish problem. You say this is a problem and have like minded individuals join you to help make a that change, even if they do not suffer from the problem, and we have seen that with supporters of Gay Marriage as well as Civil Rights, You can't just turned a blind eye to others , If that was the norm then many important causes would of never went anywhere.

Now this conversation is getting way to deep and off topic for this thread, So if you want to continue I would recommend we do that via messages.

@nite_nite: Well this took an interesting change in tone. Honestly this is going to get worse before it gets better because in your statement which I will chalk up to just being reactionary you are showing that you only care about ending racism when it involves blacks being the targets. So does that mean you care less about other groups and countries that have shown to be largely racist? like Japan for example?

So wait, now because of my skin color ( Something your assuming by the way) I can't show admiration for Dr. King or his dream? So this idea of a world where people are judged on character and who they are rather then what they are, is a message that should be tuned out by everyone who is not black?. Your logic makes no sense and is damaging as a whole to society, I'm not even going to get into your concept of blaming the collective for the actions of individual or individuals because that leads to nothing but trouble as history has shown us time and time again.

If someone takes offense to anything I say in reality or online that's on them. Because its plan to see that was not my intention nor did I say anything insulting or inflammatory in my comments you would have to take them out of context to be offended. The idea that judging a person off of character not color or any other factor is not one any human being alive today should get offended over and if they do, that's on them.

@never_give_up: Your right I don't but I never saw what Weaver would of had to go threw since things like twitter where not invented yet ( Also I was not to be born for many years later), but we did see some very venomous reactions to the idea of James Bond being cast as a woman so these things are not exclusive to one race, In fact many people got pissed that Craig was cast as Bond saying bond should not be blonde. So people seem to just love to bitch about casting, its just unfortunate that skin color has now become an easy target for these people and like I have stated before things like twitter has made it worse.

Michael Chiklis was a name people threw around a lot and like Duncan he looks like a dead ringer for the character but he is not very tall. Duncan had both the height/look and personality so skin tone was trivial.

@nite_nite: Truthfully racism on the internet is just not a white to black problem. Go on a youtube video and look at the comments you will see racism throw towards every group and whites are included in that. Now I choose to be optimistic on this topic and want to believe the majority of the people that say these things don't feel that way but I can't possibly know that since I will never meet them and can't judge them off there character.

North America is in a weird state right now, there are so many people wanting to end bigotry which is a noble cause but they seem to think to end bigotry they need to excuse or blame there own bigotry on some evil boogie man which is becoming white people. When in reality the concept and act of racism is not exclusive to one color of skin or social pecking order. Its hard time every person no matter what color, gender or sexuality takes a look at themselves and thinks do I judge every person I meet off that persons character no other factors, because after all wasn't that Dr. Kings dream.

@nite_nite:Some I feel would have that negative view of whatever race/gender/sexuality they are attacking but I do feel some are just looking for something to attack in that mindset and are lazy so they go after the I guess more obvious differences. Again I think a large part ( Not all) comes from people just being reactionary and using that energy in a negative way feeling they are invincible online. We have seen almost every demographic due the same on twitter with some horrible hash tag.

@nite_nite: I'm Canadian and I would not say the truth comes out on the internet, what happens is people feel that behind a screen they can say anything they want when enraged and get away with it. I have seen people of all different views do that. I think if we got rid of this reactionary I have a platform to spew my feelings nonsense and say had to wait an hour before posts went live you would see less of it, because people would go back to there rational self's. Then again I'm an optimist and don't count troll posts as hatred because they do it to get reactions and attention.
