@thewidowsbite: I agree with you for the most part. I would agree that they were all cheap rip-offs of the original (whom I love) but I think over the years they have definitely evolved into actual characters. I really like Rachel, I love that she sets Cyclops in his place, and I love it when she fights with home wrecker…I mean Emma. And Madelyne has had an interesting story with Goblyn Queen and Cable, and being screwed over by Cyclops, I think he just needs to be single for awhile. Except I’m still waiting to find out what Hope’s point is……..I mean yeah she’s the “Mutant Messiah” blah blah blah, but what has she actually done so far? I’m hoping Marvel can give her a good story with the upcoming Avengers VS X-Men but if they don’t…….I just don’t see the point of her.

And yeah Jean needed to come back YEARS ago……..I’m sick of the waiting!!!!!!!! I’m also sick of people talking about how she’s died five times and she keeps coming back and saying it gives comics a bad name! I mean she died ONE time, the Dark Phoenix Saga wasn’t even her, the only time she’s ever “died” is the New X-Men. Plus her names the ?!?!?!?! I can’t believe people would be surprised if she comes back from the dead I mean hello………. It’s like saying you’re surprised mice like cheese….it’s kinda what they do.

I've always called her White Queen, even though she isn't a member of the Hellfire Club anymore. I just assumed that was her code name anyways, but people just called her Emma Frost, like they called Jean Jean Grey sometimes instead of Marvel Girl or Phoenix.

@TheOptimist:

I meant are they good representatives of LGBT people. Do they show LGBT people the way they truly are? Midnighter doesn’t apologize for who he is, he does what he thinks is right and doesn’t think twice about it. He also doesn’t live up to any stereotypes, he’s his own man. As far as hero…..he’s not really a hero, anti-hero sure, but not a hero lol. I also LOVE Apollo, he represents every LGBT kid at some point in their life. He’s unsure of himself, not quite sure who he is or what he wants, but I think with his mentor Midnighter he’ll find his way. Honestly these are some of the most positive portrayals of LGBT characters I’ve ever seen in comics.

Do you support anti-heroes or do you think we should stick with only heroes? To be completely honest I think sometimes people do need to be killed, I support the death penalty, although I don’t really think Midnighter has the same rights a court has when it comes to carrying out the death penalty.

The mention of Rage made me realize how much I miss Queer As Folk….

L@spiderbat87: Midnighter is deffs hella cool haha

With the New 52 relaunch I started picking up Stormwatch just because I was told they had good representations of LGBT people. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Apollo and Midnighter are two masculine and intelligent men who happen to be gay. Because we’re only a few issues in I’m not sure where DC is going to take the characters relationship, but I’m interested to see it develop. Do you think Apollo and Midnighter are good representatives of LGBT people?

@jsphsmth: Damn JL Dark isn't good? I'm slowly being seduced by DC to try out some of the new comics and I was gonna go to JL Dark next or I Vampire. I haven't read anything he's done so hopefully he doesn't mess up Stormwatch. The fact I haven't read anything he's done makes me really nervous though lol I was trying to be positive about the same changes made to Witchblade recently and umm....didn't work out so well. Damn that actually makes me really nervous now. What's he like as a writer?

I love that talking about Huntress's origin you mention "letting the cat out of the bag" was that intentional? And it should really be cat/bat out of the bag lol,

@jsphsmth: It wasn't bad, it's just kinda like the rest of the DC relaunch...it's not bad, but I'm not really impressed yet lol. Except for Stormwatch, have u been reading Stormwatch? It's pretty good. There's a line in #5 where HW says "But then, daddy did say objects are meant to be used..." It was just like ugh idk I don't like wink wink nudge nudge type things in my comics, it just doesn't work for me. It works for a comic reader who only reads comics and isn’t on a website like comicvine where we are constantly kept up to date with what’s going on in the comic world. What I mean is if you didn’t read the article where Levitz says Huntress is HW you wouldn’t know yet who she is. So the writer can play those games with you and wink wink nudge nudge at you, but for the average reader……..we knew like two issues ago? Also I don’t like HW saying “daddy” I feel like it makes her sound like a spoiled right girl and it doesn’t sound like she has respect for her father, which I mean…..he’s Batman, who in their right mind would call Batman daddy? I know I’m being really nitpicky, but that line just made me roll my eyes.

@Orttodrog: Stormwatch is one of my favorite comics of the New 52. I had never read anything with these characters before the New 52, but I'm glad I've found them now. I also like that the writer is focusing on the characters rather then dumb action scenes. I'm really interested in these characters interplay and excited where the series goes. Anyone who's a fan of the old comics who could recommend a few? I'm usually a TPB waiter so if you could give a good series that's collected would be nice. I'm really interested in Midnighter and Apollo's relationship, its interesting to see gay characters in comics where their relationship is shown developing rather then oh they're both gay so obviously they're dating, we don't need to explain anything.....Young Avengers.
