Interesting question.  Granted, I haven't read comics regularly since maybe 7 years ago, but when I did, I tended to stick it out when my favorite books when they went bad.  Most of the time, there's always going to be a lull in the creativity of any book at some point, but eventually something will come around that reaffirms your love for whatever book it is.  I particularly remember The Incredible Hulk being guilty of this phenomenon multiple times over my comic years.

So yeah, although it may irk us to see our favorite comics take a downturn, I feel it's always better to stick it out and be there when things turn around, even if just to have the satisfaction of being there when it happens.
