still having a hard time getting excited over this... that last movie (not first class, the last wolverine movie)
Bonzi161's forum posts
didnt mean to start a mini fire with my last post (that i think was taken down at this point) it was just idol chitchat between me and a dude who hadnt had the chance to pee in a while :p
i spoke with Mike Mignola at comic con a couple of years ago, he told me to take anything Guillermo Del Toro says with a huge grain of salt (like "at the mountains of madness") but i hope this is a case where hes wrong and this goes threw. loving the comic and Constantine needs a redo
My 2 cents for what its worth. i have never followed the regular spiderman series (i do follow ultimate but that does not come into play here) so as someone from the outside of this series looking in (and as a huge fan of change in comics, i loved when Dick took over for Bruce in batman) i think this could have been handled better, im all for a change to Peter (like the did in ultimate) but i just dont like THIS change it seems sorta half assed and forced... i guess i just would have rather seen him die... flat out... or anything really... i just dont like how this sits... but i could be wrong and maybe its just what this series needs (like i said i dont follow it) i would have just rather seen it happen in a different way.
@Jonny_Anonymous said:@Bonzi161: No, it's good that other talented writers put the hard work in to making us care about these characters, it's bad that this hack cant do anything but kill them all.
One thing I can't understand though is all those people claiming that they love this book because of all the fan outrage. If someone likes the book because of the art or the storytelling I can understand but enjoying the hell out of it just because it's pissing off other readers is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.
i now feel misunderstood on this point, im not loving it because they are mad, im loving it because its making them have an opinion based on emotion... thats called good writing. when you feel strongly for a fictional character the writer has done his job. the fact that people love these characters so much they get pissed when they die means something. im on of the few who honestly thing Bruce never should have came back, Dick should have been our new bat... forever... for real. if marvel will stick to its guns and kill this many heros for ever... im in.
im sorry, but i love how mad this run is making some people, i have no ties to any of these characters (i have not read any of the books they come from) so when this comes out it tpb i am all over it. side note, isnt the fact that it makes you angry to see the characters die a sign that it is good? dont you want the stuff you read to make you feel real emotions? maybe its just me
