I'm sure this must have been done here somewhere but seeing as I can't find it (and even if I did it would still remain 50 pages on).  I'm going to ask this question:

How would you arrange the X-Teams if there was a big change around now?  Please try to take into account was has come before this and explain how the teams would be formed.

Or otherwise just your one team and why.

Medea
Medea

Actually Medea (from Millennial Visions) was listed to be the child of Gambit and Storm.  So here's at least one possibility.

In terms of genetic offspring I think it could vary.  When I began writing a fic about the children of the X-Men I seperated it into four categories.

Legacy - Mutants who directly inherit one or both of their parents powers.  Current examples include Polaris, Nocturne, Siryn or Ruby Summers.

Developed - Those who inherit the powers of their parents but higher range/more powers as well i.e. Rachel Summers, Regan Wyngerade or Spider Girl.

Amalgam - Those who develop a hybrid of the powers of their parents for example Magnus of Exiles or Medea.

Independent - Those who develop powers based on their bodies own reaction the the X-Gene such as Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Olivier Raven of GeNext.

And of course, as with Graydon, this could all be thrown out in favour of a human child.

With the X-Gene being as volatile as it is I think any of these are equally possible depending on the individual and a range of variants (one, sadly, including the writer at the time).  I don't, however, see mutants just continuing to accumulate powers of their ancestors until they become omnipotent.

I second Monet as a fully fledged X-Woman.

No Caption Provided
I have ALWAYS wanted Firestar to join the X-Men though rather than just being 'the girl with fire' in another team she could learn to develop her powers as she's been offered in the past.

Cessily still mimics human habits and weaknesses (i.e. crying, eating and her red hair)  but it is out of a subconscious need to feel human not because she has to do these things.

Also, in terms of Dazzler, thank God they at least made her sexy again.  What was with the butch look she had going on in Excalibur??

I also like the way her power are illustrated now, as a more developed spectrum rather than 80s style laser beam type.

Totally agree in terms of the character though... it always annoys me how Pixie is written so randomly.  And those of you who are actually from the UK are surely in agreement that her speech is like nails on a chalkboard in terms of how far away from 'Welsh' she is.

22 comments and I'm the first person to point out that Lockheed has been repainted Red???

His Polaris is the better than many artists... why does she always look so frumpy these days?  I have always hated Jim Lee's Psylocke though.

Despite being a big X-Men fan I am realistic about the type of characters who you could honestly include in this...

For it to be a success (and somewhere near canon) it would be probably have Scott, Jean, Hank and then... God knows... someone like Dazzler maybe?  Young Storm?

I would love to see a 'New X-Men' film as much as anyone but people who aren't real fans wont associate with X-23, Dust, etc because it's all too confusing and to dumb it down doesn't suit either the fans or the laymans...
