Gilmour's good and way more technically proficient than Barrett, but Barrett's Pink Floyd will always what I think of when someone says Pink Floyd. Barrett was just far more intersting, lyrically and playing-wise.
From what I've read Gilmour was Syd Barrett's guitar instructor.
hrmm.... i like syd barrett more. ... Gilmour was just his replacement after syd lost his ..mind... also Roger Waters was really the driving force behind Pink Floyd. .. but Gilmour is ok ;)

I was thinking about the Hockey Player when I saw this thread... but I think he was Doug Gilmour... Doug was badass with the Toronto Maple Leafs though.
