I don't know about GOTG being a smash hit. Financially sure... Marvel is on a role. But the substance of their movies... eh, they've been mediocre and full of plot holes and weak endings and bad writing. Marvel movies will not age well imo. There is an apparent mandate that Marvel movies must have humor, constant one liners and clever repartee. I giggle, and I hear the crowd giggle and laugh and the feel good atmosphere leaves many (comicbook nerds) thinking they saw greatness. When in fact, they didn't.
I think Fox must maintain their own path. I have not seen the new FF movie yet. I will go see it despite the constant insistence around here to post threads telling us how terrible it is and to save my money. It all feels like an agenda by the frantic, mindless Marvel/Disney supporters who keep insisting that Fox relinquish the rights to FF and return them to Marvel. In other words... return what they paid for, because the seller is now doing well and well, "let's lose our investment because of popular demand!"
This very thread is another example of what I consider 'a brainwashing agenda by Marvel/Disney' supporters. Now, you might say: " I have no agenda!" but yeah, you do. I just can't take your views or opinions seriously when in fact YOU WILL NOT GO TO THE THEATRE, SIT DOWN, WATCH THE MOVIE AND MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND IF IS GOOD OR BAD. You're stating that here. Your reasons: " oh because I heard so and so, because I read, because I didn't like the past movies, because it sounds like it fails at even that blah blah, booo hooo" .
I'm into the thinking that I will NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING I READ ON THE INTERNET. I will NOT be persuaded by anonymous strangers on the net to adore or hate things I have not seen or experienced myself. I like to get out there and form my own opinions.
