New 52 Nightwing is incredibly weak. He got his ass kicked by Batgirl and routinely gets his ass kicked to a bloody pulp in his own title over and over and over again. It's pretty tiresome.

The whole Babs thing is too played out and has run its course. I hope they never go back to it. The book has been closed on Kori as well, especially now that she's "been with" Jason and Roy.. it just makes it awkward and weird now. I think Helena/Huntress is his match, though I'm not sure how the New 52 "Wayne"/Earth 2 thing changes that. She challenges him in authority/ego and perspective and is not clingy enough for him to revolve around. They don't have to have a serious/committed/marriage type of relationship but more of an understanding which is the type of thing that fits him.

lol I honestly thought I was the only person in the world who likes Nightwing better.

I prefer Nightwing to Batman and I like both of them a lot.

I prefer Nightwing as Batman. Do I win?

It's really a shame. After being such a central character and carrying the DC flagship for the last couple years before the reboot as Batman he's really taken a hit. I think it's largely in part of how they reset the ages of the Batfamily. Being at the peak of maturity prereboot, late 20s/early 30s, we witnessed so much growth of him as a character: first learning how to become Batman without becoming Bruce and then finally accepting it and taking off with it. Now he's dialed down to his early 20s and because of the shorter career he's without the Teen Titan experience, without the Justice League experience, and pretty much without the Batman experience as well since they really play it down by never mentioning at all other than that short "filling in" line in Nightwing #1 and Damian having a couple vague references of being his partner in other books.

Honestly the reboot has been really hit or miss. I'm really glad for what it's done for characters like Swamp Thing, Animal Man, and Wonder Woman but it really destroyed a lot of characters like Green Arrow and all of the popular characters retconned out of existence. Conceptually, I kind of agree with how they downsized the Batfamily a bit as it was getting pretty ridiculous but most of the changes have been steps backward. Babs as Batgirl is a demotion for me -- I really think her becoming Oracle transcended just another crime-fighting/redundant cape+mask which she is as Batgirl (they also claim to be all about diversity representation yet they took out their only disabled hero). Dick becoming Nightwing again is a demotion for me (already explained above; all those great stories and growth are now nullified). Even Tim getting his book taken away and just lumped into Teen Titans is a demotion (not to mention his hideous new costume). Obviously, for practical reasons, Dick couldn't have stayed Batman forever -- though it made perfect sense with him being Batman of Gotham and Bruce answering a higher calling of being Batman of the world -- but they just could have handled it a lot better than just resetting the clock and retconning half the history without offering any closure.

Different parts of Alfred are in the platter. Bruce kills Joker in a fit of rage. Dick gets pissed off and blames Bruce. Jason acts like Bruce's killing vindicates him -- though I'm not sure what to make out of the half face/helmet, the first cover is pretty abstract but the next cover shows Roy holding the helmet with half of it missing so..

It needs to be grey and it needs to not be ARMOR, at least not the "plated" looking kind in the movies. Like reinforced/thin plating under a sort of mesh/cloth material like kevlar. Also, all the moves are missing his LENSES. It's ridiculous to see Batman expose his eyes and the creepy eyeshadow/eyeliner they make him wear.

The layered/lined look of the pre-reboot costume would work. Also, small/straight Jim Lee ears plz.

oh yea white eyes in a real movie, I can see why they didnt include it in the nolan movies, because it was maybe too unrealistic...

They're lenses not eyes..

na, im not a morrison fan. after what he did to Jason in Batman and Robin, i just couldnt stand it anymore. As for this, this better take place after the death of the family. it makes no sense whatsoever. Morrison needs to pay attention to what characters he uses, and where they are in their respective books. Blatantly using a character without consideration of the character's current progress is disrespectful to me. When Jason was featured in Tomasi's run, it seemed plausible and even referenced his own book. I didnt like the story but Tomasi took the time to properly use the character, Morrison just thought "oh I am going to make Wingman Jason Todd, just for kicks and giggles". I find that annoying, and confusing to the overall continuity

I get the impression that Morrison always intended Jason to redeem himself as Wingman long before the reboot and perhaps as early as the Island of Mister Mayhew arc but DC had it's own plans. INC has always been in it's own realm really.. with Leviathan Strikes! coming out so late. It's the last book that ties together everything he's ever written for Batman so people who aren't familiar with the entire story shouldn't get so worked up about continuity. It's not like every book is supposed to be read in parallel where everything is happening at the same time. I actually wished he was allowed to finish his story as a pre-reboot story with Dick still as Batman -- the whole Wingman thing would've fit better that way and it seems like he had bigger things setup for Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain who are seemingly not existent anymore. Also, Jason was only in disguise so that he could work with them without the others freaking out so now that he's revealed he doesn't really have to be Wingman for the rest of the book; it's not like it's a permanent thing.

Morrison doesn't give a f@!$ about Jason Todd,he just doesn't!

  • First he makes him a mass murderer, completely inconsistent from the rest of the stories following the character!
  • Then he makes him a lunatic............
  • And now he makes him batman's double agent.Even though the rest of the Bat-Books have them not even talking to each other!!

    WHY? GRANT WHY?

That's not true. He came back to help them during Night of the Owls and again with the current Death of the Family event. If anything, it was Tony Daniels who screwed up Jason big time in Battle for the Cowl.. Morrison just played off of that but still made him a "good" guy (albeit liberal with killing) who clashed with Batman & Robin while running after the same bad guys. In INC he makes Jason seem pretty okay with everyone else. Also, as I understand it, the whole red hair thing is actually a reference to a silver age issue that first came up with it.
