Eh, if you ask me you should probably blame the writers of these books you dislike before Joe Quesada, from what I understand, with some exceptions, he doesn't TELL these people what to do, they have retreats where they all flesh out their ideas for the next however long with everyone. I'll always 'LIKE' Marvel but only because of specific titles. I can't imagine anyone can say there was a point in time where they liked EVERY book Marvel was putting on the shelves and it's like that with ALL comic publishers. As it stands there's barely a handful of books I really think are worth my cash, and that's the way it'll always be. You can't just point your finger at ONE person and say "All his fault!" You don't like Spider-man these days? And, what, Dan Slott has NOTHING to do with that? Yeah the guy likes to influence books with his opinions (most recently, and annoyingly, banning all cigarette smoking in Marvel because he lost someone to lung cancer; I don't even smoke and I think that's stupid, I mean sucks for his loss, but cigarette smoking is a way of life for some people, and a fair amount of comic characters, you can't just do away with it because of a personal tragedy) but...well I guess I have no rebuttal, it's just not ALL his fault, in my opinion. Plus, the "Guardian Devil" story arc that brought Daredevil back from cancellation was one of the comics that first got me hooked on comics, his art was pretty good in that I'd say. I realize this is about his editorial style, but still, credit where credit's due.

Bring him back pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease ;)

The winking face means you're kidding right? Right? RIGHT?! I trust Guillermo Del Toro to finally give the fans an accurate John Constantine. The LEAST he can do is keep him friggin' British. However, the blonde hair and chain smoking would do nicely as well. Haven't read a single issue of JLD (namely because of the rebooting of Constantine) but I'm excited about this.

Eh, I'd have liked a Garth Ennis/Steve Dillon run-based figure personally, but I guess the Preacher figures didn't come out that well so maybe not...but yeah, no cigarettes? Almost as disappointing as the end of the already deplorable movie where instead of saying f**k it and smoking a cigarette after ridding his body of cancer he takes out a stick of gum instead, which is so out of character. I'm with the masses, let's get a statue.

I'd buy that for a dollar!

Awesome Robocop reference! That movie is near and dear to my heart and at the epicenter of the hardcore punk band I was in.

In my humble opinion one villain that always struck me as being the most believable in origin and terrifying in execution has always been one man: Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin of Crime. One of the best things about him is he debuted as a Spider-man villain but went on to torment a multitude of other characters in the Marvel Universe; of course this is true of many of Spidey's villains but I would go out on a limb and say he is definitely the one that has gone on to cause MORE harm (both mental and physical) to other heroes, just look what he did to Daredevil in Born Again, I never saw a hero more torn apart and just totally stripped of EVERYTHING he'd accumulated: his girlfriend, his job, his money, his home, his best friend, even most of his sanity and will to be a hero...all GONE just so the Kingpin could show that he was stronger and better than Daredevil who thought he could hide behind his alter ego. But I digress, the contest asks about origin? That's another amazing part about Wilson Fisk: he has the same origin as most super heroes! The guy was bullied, and ridiculed, so what did he do? He trained his body and his mind to overcome his obstacles. Sound familiar? He could have been on the same path as your Bruce Waynes, Peter Parkers and so ons but instead he used it to take advantage of people and learn the ways the world worked to get himself to the top of the criminal empire. No villain has been more detrimental to so many heroes, and he never had superpowers, or built some sort of suit to give him the upperhand, he can just outwit and destroy anyone with the his sheer power of influence. The dude is one bad mother--shut your mouth!

I only just found out about this site a couple months ago in the pages of DC comics and I am now an addict. None of my friends read comics other than the random trade here and there, save for the buddies I've made at my local comic shop, now this site has become my first stop every time I'm on the computer. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUPER FRIENDS! I hope to be saying that to you folks every year for the next FOREVER

I don't think any of us really know at all enough about what goes on behind closed doors at comic book companies to try and suggest that because she's leaving it's all falling apart, and in no way do I mean to belittle what Berger has done for the the publisher, I'm sure she had a LOT to do with how great it's been. However, when it comes right down to it, it's the creators that have made Vertigo as great as it is so as long as the new people in charge continue the tradition of getting creators in the same vein as Ennis, Ellis, Vaughn and so on and allowing them to do what they do with no holds barred we can look forward to continue reading really incredible and compelling works of art for a mature audience. So all we can hope is that her mentors that are taking over do what she's taught them! I mean my ALL TIME favorite books are Preacher and Transmetropolitan so they had better not screw this up or they screw up an entire LEGACY of what I consider to be perfect comics.

I know it's not entirely possible every time, and you [Tony] seemed a little disheartened that Scott Snyder couldn't stick it out longer but honestly I think that was an awesome balance in terms of podcast format. You should attempt to do half guest/half questions more often. I mean these creators are obviously busy people and must do interviews ALL the time, so you can't really expect them to provide one to two hours of their time to one podcast, and at the same time they would just be sitting there while you answered our questions. I liked the way this worked out!

@RedheadedAtrocitus@Mucklefluga: Well yeah, it's canon but if I'm not mistaken isn't it just a dream Batman had? He's all "Yo, I had this dream, and I know everything so my dreams are pretty much FACT--don't be Batman or shits gonna get all effed up." I mean, I know this future has been touched on before though, so I guess it is?

I'm not picking up All New X-Men because I heard the first issue was weak sauce and the whole concept seems...Uncanny (pun intended, but also appropriate), but Iceman is one of my all-time favorite X-Men and seeing this made me actually laugh out loud. Damn all these good comics! I don't have that kind of money to throw around!

I thought by now I would have used a word long enough, but apparently I haven't, so I'm cheating:
