Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith the BenB Edition

I was watching Revenge of the Sith today and it got me thinking, how could this movie had been better? We all know that the movie had three factors that would ruin any attempt to make it awesome; Hayden Christensen's God awful acting, George Lucas' addiction to green screen up every scene no matter how little it is needed, and dialog that comes off as something a middle school student wrote. While there were a lot of things I did like about the movie there are two scenes I think could have been done better.

Scene 1: Death of Mace Windu/Birth of the Emporer

As it stands Mace Windu and a few red shirt jedi confront the Chancellor in his office. They try to arrest him and a fight breaks out. Palpatine quickly kills off the useless jedi (that sure did prove the situation was deadly) and gets into a long sword fight with Master Windu. When the Chancellor uses force lightening on Windu, somehow it is deflected it back onto himself using a lightsabre causing him to become disfigured (you would think we would just stop shooting the force lightening out of his hands once it began to hurt him). Suddenly Anakin busts in the door telling Windu not to kill him. Palpatine begs for his life while Mace begins in conversation about how the Chancellor is too dangerous to live (but not so dangerous that one should keep an eye on him). More blue lightening, Mace gets flung out a window and end scene. All in all Mace Windu's death was a bit anti-climatic.

Scene 1: BenB Edition

I was begin the scene with the Chancellor having a diner with a number of important government leaders, both allies and enemies. Palpatine would then tell them all the news of  General Grievous' death and with it, the end of the Clone Wars. While the gathered leaders congratulate each other Palpatine stands up and tells them that the galaxy will finally come to order, his order, a Sith order. He then fired force lightening from his hands with a quick cut to another scene.

The diner party scene is then picked up later with the burnt corpses still sitting in their chairs and the Chancellor calmly waiting for the jedi while looking out the window. Mace Windu and his red shirts come in and are shocked by the sight. Palpatine then tells them at their presence there has doomed the jedi order. He plans to tell the galaxy that the jedi used the force to murder the political leaders in order to take over the government and that he managed to escape. The people of the republic will cry out for the extermination of the Jedi, a wish that he will enjoy granting. The jedi and the sith lord would then engage in a battle (the other jedi would all last a lot longer in this version). Before long the fight will get down to Palpatine against Windu. When Palpaine tries to use the force lightening I would have Mace catch it using the force (Yoda used a similar trick in Attack of the Clones) only Palpatine would keep adding to the amount Mace was blocking hoping to overrun him. Just before Mace could break from the strain he would launch it at the Chancellor. Palpatine would fall over with the aftershock of the lightening still coursing over his body disfiguring him to the point of looking for like a burnt corpse. Anakin would storm into the room. Palpatine would beg Anakin for help, reminding him that he knows how to keep Padme alive through drain the life of another, and to help him drain Windu. Mace would be moving in for the killing blow when he hears Anakin ignite his lightsabre. A fight would then ensue between Anakin and Mace, during which Anakin manages to cut off Mace's right hand. Mace then recovers the lightsabre of one of the other jedi and continues the fight using his left hand which Anakin would soon cut off. Anakin would then drag the still live Windu to the severely weakened Palpatine. Using his ability to drain life, the Emperor would now take on the twisted appearance we all know.

Scene 2: Skywalker/Kenobi showdown

Anakin has murder younglings and thinks his wife will still want him. Oh no! Obi-Wan shows up with Padme proving Anakins jealous suspensions that he has had since he saw Obi-Wan right now. Padme gets hurt and the boys fight. During said fight they bring down the whole complex around them. Anakin gets really mad while the two of them battle over a lava pit ending on the shore of the lava lake. Obi-Wan has a six inch height advantage and tells Anakin that there is no way he will be able to successfully attack him (seriously, the just fought while surfing over a lake of lava and this is the point that the fight comes to a stand still. Jedi and superjump twenty feet in the air and flip a tank with their minds and this is where Anakins abilities are maxed. Obi-Wan has the high ground). Anakin says the jedi are evil (where he comes up with that one I still don't know) and allows his reckless side to override his knowledge that Obi-Wan has the high ground and makes his attack anyway. Obi-Wan cuts his legs off and the fight ends. Obi-Wan walks away while his student and closest friend screams in pain as he is set on fire by intense heat of the lava.

Scene 2: BenB edition

First off, if there is going to be a jealously plot point about Obi-Wan and Padme give some idea of it throughout the movies. A few smiles here or there, a look that lasts a moment too long, something, anything to give Anakin a reason to be jealous other than a Des Ex Machina in the closing moments of the third film.

What I really want to change about this scene is to give Anakin a moment of remorse. I would keep the fight as it were, with them bringing down the complex around them and battling to the shore of the lava lake. Throw in a scene where C3PO drags the knocked out Padme into the ship before the whole place sinks into the lava. On the shore have Anakin notice that the complex has fully sunk and have him overcome with grief. Everything he did, he had done for Padme. Now she is gone and he has to live his life with the knowledge that every horrible act he has performed has been in vain. Obi-Wan would turn off his lightsabre and tell him that it is not too late, that he can still be redeemed. That they can work together and stop the Emperor if Anakin confesses that the jedi were innocent. Anakin would drop his lightsabre then fall to his knees. He would then look up at Obi-Wan and hold out his hand only to use the force to choke Obi-Wan from afar. With tears rolling down his face Anakin says that it IS too late for him. That whatever good that was left within him died with Padme, leaving only the monster.  Just as Obi-Wan is about to black out, he uses the force to push Vader back, slamming him into a rock breaking the choke hold. As Obi-Wan lays on the ground gasping for air, Vader rolls on the rocks and near the lake of lava igniting his clothes. Hearing Vaders screams, Obi-Wan crawls over to the rocks trying to save his former student. Vader soon stops screaming and appears to be dead. Obi-Wan rests on his back, watching as Padme's shuttle sets down nearby and the droids rescue him telling him that the containment field used by the complex is failing and the area will soon become unstable. C3PO asks about Master Anakin and Obi-Wan tells him that Vader is dead.

I think these two changed would have helped the movie a lot. If anyone is crazy or bored enough to read this please let me know what you think.
