1. Love.

Pointless denying that Clark in love with her. In past issues of the comic, he began to be jealous of Lois to her boyfriend.Jealous it means love. And uttered the phrase Lois, that clear gives to understand that feelings of Clark is not unreciprocated.

Any reason is a good reason to break up the SM/WW pairing.

Hell you could randomly make Diana a lesbian and I would be on board with it.

Lets just admit that the biggest reason they should be together is because that is how its been for 70 years and why fix what isn't broken?

Ugh another complaint about the supes/WW relationship....look we ALL know that eventually supes will end up with boring old Lois so why can't you just let the people (like me) who enjoy the supes/WW love affair have our fun? And btw they have been together for like 8 decades idk why it's so frustrating that he's with another woman for once

Well Lois will grow old and die then Superman will be alone again for 750,000 years like he was pre 52 seems legit.

This is not a complaint, but a statement of fact.

Love affair? You are seriously? How he behaves with Lois greatly differs from the one, when he is with Diana.

She humanizes him.

1. and 2. are basically the same point.

"The nosey human who always needs saving, falling in love with the alien mystery man" always seems so forced. To me someone like Wonder Woman would be a much more natural choice: both consider themselves outsiders amongst humanity, both strive to be a symbol for protection and justice, both can share the same extended lifespan, both actually lead the same life of heroics, etc.

I am not necessarily a fan of Wonder Woman being paired with Supes - relationships in comics are of little interest to me, but just the constant pushing of Lois and Superman together feels tiresome and needless.

3. and 4. can also be applied to Wonder Woman, Batman, and many other heroes.

As for 5. I would argue that the Kents would be the main humanizing factors in his life.

Please don't take this as me trashing Lois Lane. If you are a fan of hers, cool, but I just never cared for her being forced into such a large role in the universe due to her simply being the clingy girlfriend to Superman.

Biggest problem I have with WW/SM is that DC has seen it is unpopular judging by all the boo's they get when they say anything about them at cons. So what do they do shove it in peoples faces we now have a new comic coming out, it could be great I do not know but the sappy romance cover is there to what? give the finger to people that hate this pairing?

When people go on about this is the new 52 and Lois does not matter. I hate to tell you but the new 52 will not be around forever they will reboot again or new higher ups will come in and change things all over again. Since Lois and Clark have been woven into main stream pop culture as being soul mate, They will always end up together because the characters are far bigger then the people that run the company.

The topic wasn't about casting Superman's girlfriend/companion from a marketing standpoint but rather personal opinions. From a marketing standpoint yes I would agree that the public image of 'Lois and Clark' is understood by a wider audience.

But, the Spiderman trilogy also showed a very widely understood relationship: that of Peter and MJ, and that was later ended in continuity too (no interest in discussing that whole debacle). As Strongarm said previously, "it is called n52 for a reason;" changes should be expected. And unless you just want the same old thing rehashed decade after decade (again this is just my opinion), I would think that such changes would be a welcomed experience.

@world_breaker_elmo: I disagree with you.

The only thing that is common to Superman and Wonder Woman, is that both have superpowers.

I didn't see that in the "New 52" Diana defended Superman, as Lois did.

Lois female version Clark, only without superpowers.

@beautifultemptress:

I disagree with you.

That's cool. Would be boring if we all were in perfect agreement all the time.

The only thing that is common to Superman and Wonder Woman, is that both have superpowers.

Reread my origional post as I already covered my thoughts on this - saying it is just because they both have superpowers is a shallow comparison.

I didn't see that in the "New 52" Diana defended Superman, as Lois did.

I was referring to Superman's entire history, not just DCnU. As for the DCnU, Lois so far has shown great interest in his safety and her affection for him. Does this alone make it a necessity to go back to the status quo of 'Lois and Clark?"

Lois female version Clark, only without superpowers.

I heard this repeated a lot amongst fans - mostly teen to middle aged females - of that 'Lois & Clark' drama that was on in the mid 90s. I only saw the show a few times because some girl in my class - for the life of me I cannot even remember her last name - was into it.

What Lois has with Clark/Superman is a long history of her being written as the naive human who gets herself into trouble and requires him to save her. Other than that what does she offer him that cannot or has not been offered elsewhere? A way to "feel more human?" As I said before, the Kents were the main influence in Clark's life for that. Someone to confide in? Bruce arguably knows Clark just as well as Lois. Companionship? Sure, but nothing that someone else could not provide.

As for their comparable natures, what exactly is exclusive to Lois that Diana does not share? Sense of justice? Helping mankind? Caring for others? Standing for what she believes is right? Nothing striking as of yet.

There is nothing Lois has that Diana has not also shown throughout their history with Superman. What Lois cannot do is actually understand the life he leads: The battles, the deaths witnessed firsthand, the camaraderie of fighting side by side, the personal feeling of being different from nearly everyone else on the planet simply by your own nature, or the knowledge that your life will extend far past those of the majority you know. Lois can only view and understand these things from the spectators perspective - the occasional event plots where she is either granted powers or given some tech to use does not make up for this, whereas Diana lives them right beside Clark.

Again, I do not really care whom he ends up with - he could end up with Batman and double date with Midnighter and Apollo for all I care. It is the idea that Superman MUST be with Lois Lane and nobody else that is just silly to me.

Apparently, Clark wants that Lois had with superpowers.

Already clear that Superman in love with Lois, not in Diana. As soon as Lois will part with boyfriend, Clark will throw Diana and begin to care for lady heart.

I would like to know why DC continue to beat around the bush and try to exclude Lois from Superman's life?"Knocking out one column they can destroy the whole building." It is not necessary that she was his girlfriend, Lois's role in the comics should be much larger.

Why do they continue to promote the "attitude" of Superman and wonder Woman, when there is no romantic relationship in principle?

Because they want to make happy the fans pair of Superman and Wonder Woman. But as you have noticed that a is not romantic relationship. If he really loved Diana, would he dream that Wonder Woman was Lois instead of the amazon?I highly doubt it.Although this was a hallucination created Hector Hammond, but the image that he created is the desire of Superman.

So, as you correctly noticed earlier, the interplay of Superman and Wonder Woman is nothing but a marketing ploy.

Lois Lane is an amazing character who fights for what she believes in through actions and words. She doesn't need super powers to be an equal to the likes of Wonder Woman and Superman. They are more than their powers as well. She is a strong human character. She is brave, intelligent, loyal, and can be trusted. She would do anything for Clark/Superman. She would willingly die for him. And you are saying she isn't good enough to be with him?

Lois is good enough to be with him. That is why SO MANY fans want them to be together.

Opinions vary. You obviously really love Lois. I, on the other hand, find the character has become boring and trite over time and offers barely anything of interest anymore.

Superman doesn't necessarily have to be with Wonder Woman, I never said he did, but since you specifically mention her she's a far more interesting comic character overall and a much more intriguing romantic interest for Superman than Lois Lane.

I won't knock you for liking WW more than Lois (I don't get it but like you said opinions vary). I still want to know WHY you think she is the better choice for Superman. And while the reasoning you give won't change my mind, I'd still like to know why you think she is the better choice. You don't give any specific reasons. You just say she is a more intriguing romantic partner for him.

Lois Lane is one of my favorite characters (and I stated a few of the reasons why in my first post). And I also really like Wonder Woman, but putting Diana with Clark simply because they have similar powers does not mean they fit as a romantic couple.

@batfam24: I like Superman with WW better than Lois because I haven't had to watch WW continually get into the same old, same old damsel in distress situations in which Superman must save her time and time again. It's beyond old.

I think Superman having a super-powered gf is a much fresher and interesting concept and the woman doesn't have to be WW, it could be several different women over time.

Real reason: All people are afraid of change, but comic book fans in particular. Comic fans dedicate LITERAL YEARS to continuity, so any change to the status quo frightens them. So, comic book universes spend decades trapped in stasis. The DC New52 was supposed to be the first time any comic book company took a big risk and changed things and built an all new timeline, an all new continuity, and fans have fought every change.

Honestly, we dont deserve a cool, new universe.

I prefer Lois because she grounds Superman's character and makes him more relatable, it also adds more depth to the character. The fact that Superman is in love with a human when he is a god makes the romance interesting. Two gods in love does not interest me, especially when these gods have no chemistry.
