" I dont understand something.. X-Men Legacy will be restarted to #1 ?? "
X-Men: Legacy is continuing with Rogue and Magneto as the main characters. X-Men is an additional book, not a replacement. Below are some of the upcoming covers. =-] .
I actually LOVE her current one. I mean it's got the traditional 'Rogue' colours and a few 'x's. I really like the pouches as well, costumes have been a little too streamlined lately… although god forbid we go back to the 90s. Cable's costume was just ridiculous. I also love her scarf, make it really dynamic.
However, I don't like it when they unzip her too much with the current costume. She might catch a cold. Although I do like the sliver of arm flesh on show, and the fact her gloves — this is cool — have detachable finger bits.
There's a picture by Clay Mann showing how it should be. Seriously epic.
Did no one else notice they spelt 'to be continued', "to be coninued" on the last page of the story? I kinda laughed sadly after I realised nothing had really happened… I thought it was just warming up. Wasn't bad though, just felt short.
I actually think this could be pretty fun if you just ignore all the other vampire stuff going on at the moment. I was skeptical, but if they play this right it could be quite interesting. Not a fan of Medina, but that art up top is pretty sultry! Does anyone know who it's by?
" So, is this X-Men #01 restarting Uncanny X-Men or is this a secondary title? If it does indeed replace Uncanny X-Men, guaranteed that when the series reaches its 600th issue, they'll start renumbering again from 600 and ongoing (like they did with Captain America, Thor, Incredible Hulk, and Daredevil (#500 in his case). Either way, the art looks great. Someone on here mentioned that Pixie looks like an adult and not a teenager. And I agree. But I won't let that bother me from enjoying this book. "
I get the impression this is a fourth main title, so like: Uncanny, Legacy, X-Men, Astonishing; unless they're going to get rid of Astonishing… which really hasn't been the same since the end of the Whedon/Cassaday run.
Basically it's all to capitalise on the vampire trend, and the interest in X-Men. There's far too many books and I think storytelling suffers for that.
I'd prefer a proper X-Men 4, but I guess this'll do. It should be okay as long as there is:
1) No Wolverine. 2) more screen-time and importance for Cyclops. 3) lots of Emma Frost and Beast interaction.
Also, I don't think they should have Magneto as the villain… yet. Since there's obviously going to be sequels.
I'll be disappointed though, seeing as it being a prequel to the existing films Scott will end up with Jean and not Emma. Cyclops is way more interesting a guy with Emma.
I actually just yesterday got the Marvel Comics app on my iPod Touch (iPad isn't out over here in bonny Britain yet) and whilst skeptical about the whole thing, I went ahead and download a free version of Astonishing X-Men #1. The experience was awesome.
Bearing in mind I was enjoying this comic book on my small iPod screen, as opposed to the rather spectacular iPad, this is impressive. The transition is seamless, you loose none of the detail, and way the panels can be viewed one by one actually makes the experience more involving and cinematic.
PROS • the digital releases are over £1.50 cheaper, and advert free! • seamless, cinematic almost, whilst staying true to comic books – none of this 'motion comic' business. • take up little-to-no space, and if you delete a comic you don't have to repay to download it again • really vivid colours, crisp text
CONS • digital comics are released a few months or a year after their physical counterpart…… currently. I foresee that this will change with the iPhone 4.0 update, when Marvel and other publishers get their act together and realise that this is a seriously • no way to import you physical collection. • iPad/Pods only partially compensate for the in-hand feeling.
