Best Heroes List:

Batman; made no excuses. To para-quote Firefly, "When someone is faced with that kind of evil, you either become it or you fight it with all you've got."

Spiderman; made a choice to remake who he was after learning the hard way, gets the bump over Stark because Spidey is also sacrificial.

Iron Man; faced with a choice, very similar to Spidey, and reformed himself. Gets one up on S and Cap because he isn't as naive.

Superman; Seeks the best in people and never wavers on his morals.

Captain America; Never gives up, and again, never wavers on his moral code.

Flash (Barry Allen); truly sacrificial and one of the best and few comic renditions of a cop who is a cop for the sake of serving others.

Thing; truly and constantly gets the raw deal, but keeps his chin up and keeps fighting for others especially the underdog and always loves his family.

Aunt May/Alfred (tie); there is no Batman or Spiderman without them. It's a tie because while May is more influential, Alfred has more to handle.

Nightwing; never lost himself to tragedy and uses his substantial abilities for others

Professor X; while his mistakes are many and well known, does enough good and has enough hope that followers constantly return, believeing in his dream
