I used to love reading trade paperbacks that would collect a story arc when I was 8 years old because I could finally get the whole story instead of trying to trade issues with my friends and only get parts of the story. Now that I'm 28, I've really come to appreciate the graphic novel. I remember reading Brian K. Vaughn and Niko Henrichon 's Pride of Baghdad after I had come home from Operation Iraqi Freedom and being amazed at how the art of storytelling through comic books has really grown. I just recently picked up Greg Pak and Carmine Di Giandomenico's X-Men: Magneto Testament and I really was blown away. The historical and cultural accuracy in today's comic books are simply amazing. I'm probably going to stick to the comics in my pull, but I'll start treating myself to a graphic novel once a month!
