Ooh! 0

Wow, this issue really clears up a lot of things that happen between Sandman and Lucifer and now I feel like an idiot for reading Lucifer first, all the things I didn't understand were explained in this series. It seems that Heaven wishes to solve a problem of wishes being granted to humanity, but without getting directly involved so they decide to hire none other than the retired Prince of the East, Lucifer. The issue starts off with a Paul, some demented human being of sorts, his tale although ...

Drizzt At His Best!! 0

Okay, so after reading Homeland, Exile, Sojourn, The Crystal Shard, Streams of Silver and Halfling's Gem I have read some of the greatest writing of any comic books ever but this, this is so far my favorite book in the Drizzt series, utterly amazing!! I'm not going to say it was necessarily the best writing of all the books, though best art I could argue...its just that this issue brings about so many amazing changes in the series, twists and turns I NEVER anticipated but that I absolutely love....

The Bowels of Hell 0

This is definitely one of my favorite Sandman issues that I've read so far, which happens to be nineteen of them, and I can safely say its because the issue is simply a work of genius, and as a benefit it introduces my favorite comic book character...helping me catch up on him, pre-Lucifer. Anyways, before I go in depth, let me make it clear the art was a disappointment, but I won't take stars off for it because it was the 80's, you can't expect super-quality art. Anyways, the story is Dream's ...

Attack and Deception 0

Well, the main characters of this issue are obviously the crewmembers of the Naglfar and in this issue we learn a lot of interesting things about them, from the reason Easterman is a member of the crew, to what the Mansions of the Silence actually are, to some of the perils they are going to face, seeing as they stumble upon one of them in this very issue. The majority of Issue 37 is the crew traveling into an expanse of giant mirrors and inside it being attacked by numerous "tree creatures" and...

Nikolaos is Amazing! 0

So, I finally got to buying some Anita Blake books and have read Guilty Pleasures so far and must say, the two are EXACTLY identical, word for word, event for event, except this has the added benefit of having pictures! Oh, and just so its clear, I loved the book so its pretty obvious I'd love the book with amazing art added and no downsides, isn't it? Well, anyways, back on topic, like I said the art was amazing, as was the story, from the battle of the rat-men, to the sarcastic joking of a fri...

And So it Begins... 0

That's right! The voyage of the Naglfar into the Mansions of the Silence that becomes a five issue story arc all begins here in this great issue! The main point of this issue is to gather up the numerous individuals that will become the crew, not as in seeking them out but just as in getting to know them, even though all of them have been introduced in earlier issues. Basically the idea I find most interesting is that Lucifer somehow has planned this entire voyage out even though he is not a par...

Hard to Get Into? 0

Okay when I started reading this issue I just felt like I was jumping into something I barely understood, I mean sure there as an intro page stating the story so far but still, everything was just happening and I had no idea why or what everything was for that matter. Eventually the story slowed down and I had time to catch up and by the end I was loving the story, unfortunately it was too late, the comic was over...I had gotten hooked but didn't really feel like I read much of a comic. But yes, ...

My Second Issue? 0

Okay, to start this review off I will let everyone know I am no 2000 AD expert in the least, if you want one of those go talk to dmstarz, however, I am the guy who added more than 1500 issues of the series to the Vine and after looking at the covers, becoming interested in a lot of them and as such learning about the characters this longest series in the world began to intrigue me so I read Issue 1 and I loved it, great comic. Since then though, I have taken a break, seeing as it seems like such...

I have to say I actually loved this issue, sure I usually do complain about this series' use of nudity and I assure you there was a lot of nudity and fetishes played upon in this issue but in the end I have no complaints about it cause in a way it actually fit well with the story seeing as the majority of the scenes were torture scenes and I mean seriously, if you were torturing a very attractive woman, would you keep her clothed? If you answer yes...DO NOT PICK UP THIS COMIC!!If you say you wou...

So, So 0

Okay, yes I admit the art of the comic was great and the story phenomenal but still I guess I'm just a little disappointed cause I didn't pick this title up to read about Kiden Nixon, I admit she's an okay character but not really my type of character. Anyways, this issue is once again filled with drugs, guns and blood, lots of blood, in fact a tub filled with blood. But this issue's story seems to simply be a relationship between Cameron and Kiden, there take on the past events and their involv...

Constantine 0

To me this issue was basically just my first look at the extremely well-known Vertigo character, John Constantine, and having just recently watched the Constantine movie and thinking it was a very poor excuse for a movie and reading this issue I am going to think Hellblazer isn't my thing. Now, I'm not saying this issue was bad, not at all, in fact I did enjoy it, all the parts with Dream anyways, but like I said to me this issue was all about Constantine and his part in this issue was less than ...

Haha! 0

Okay, I admit the only reason I wanted to read this comic was because it had Death on the cover, but when I found out it was just her talking about safe sex and not getting AIDS I kept reading purely because of the hilarity of it all. Yes, this isn't really a comic but a lecture, but its a lecture by one of my favorite comic book characters ever and she even shows how to use a condom with the help of John...and a banana. Its hilarious really but at the same time its a good message that unfortuna...

GO KIARA!...woops...I mean Anita :P 0

Yeah, another amazing issue, no disappointment from me, I really want to read the book(s) now, but still I guess I'll have to settle with the comics for a bit longer, good thing they are flawless! Amazing story, amazing art, these comics are some of the best I've ever come across, I think anyone who enjoys a good story, likes vampires, or just wants something new should read this.In my mind there are two parts to this story, Anita's time with the vampires and her time with the wererats, both par...

Armageddon Has Come! 0

This has to be one of my favorite titles in the Chaos! line as I really enjoy the whole end of the world idea as well as the fact that the story includes so many of everyone's favorite characters, all doing their thing. The funniest part to me is Lady Death and Purgatori's anger at the arrival of Armageddon because its interfering with THEIR plans to take over the world but other than that the story is all action. I am curious to see what will become of Purgatori and Lady Death, seeing as they a...

Monika! 0

Okay, so there was a lot of good stories that went on in this issue but I must confess, for once I have no opinions on any of them except for the first one shown, that of Red Monika! Until now all that was seen of her was some cleavage shots and a few text bubbles but in this issue we finally get to see her in action and it was awesome! She has to be one of my favorite bounty hunters ever after this issue, thanks to not only her looks but the personality and skills that can be seen here.As for G...

I don't know about this issue, I can't really say I have that many opinions on it, it wasn't a bad issue at all, there were no problems with it my opinion at all, it just wasn't my thing I guess. A story about a dollmaker with living dolls that resurrect her after she gets hit by a car and then make her into a living doll as well, just not that interesting I guess. It was really cool story-wise I think and the art was nice but yeah, I guess the story didn't really appeal to me but I'd recommend ...

A New Course for the Series Begins 0

Yet another drama-filled tale of the Frost family filled with deceit, anger and huge changes in the family that will lead to quite a different future than one might expect at the beginning of the issue. And even though all the issues before this had a similar concept, it never gets old, and I still am in love with Miss Frost after reading this series, I truly believe it is here that she's at her best. Now of course, the big characters in this issue were Emma, Winston and Christian, Emma growing t...

Now, I can't actually say why I like this issue at all, cause I really don't know but for some reason I have always enjoyed it. The two stories in this issue are Tarot's story and Jon's...now to start off Jon's is of little consequence or importance but it simply shows us how much Raven hates him as she sends her dragon witches to kill him, it looked cool but overall it wouldn't have changed anything for me if it wasn't there. However, Tarot's story is a lot more interesting, for she is dead and...

Better or Worse? 0

Although I credit this issue with more stars I cannot really say I know if it was better or worse than the last in every aspect though overall it was better...and once again the story followed two characters, Solomon and Lucifer.Solomon's story began pretty slowly, starting off where it was left hanging last issue and with little excitement and all around the story itself had little excitement, but it did have two revelations, one that I knew already, the other that truly caught me by surprise. ...

A lamer comic? I think not...There isn't even words to describe how horridly pathetic this issue was...not a single point to it whatsoever, there wasn't even a story at all and the pictures weren't that great either, I mean sure the art of Tarot was beautiful as usual and the comic was full of sexualized poses but unfortunately the two other witches featured in the story were unattractive anyways, so no amount of nudity and sexuality could make them look good.Anyways, the point of the issue was ...

Okay, I decided I should get to finishing these reviews on all the Tarot issues, so here's yet another one of my beloved reviews of a comic that nobody supports. Anyways, I have to start off by saying that, at least up until the last few panels this issue is meant to be lighthearted and humorous and it is why I enjoy this issue, cause the humor is actually good in my opinion.Basically the plot of the story is Jon taking Tarot, her sister and mother all out to Hawaii so he can finally propose to ...

Meh 0

Well I think I can safely say this is the lowest part of the series for me, the last issue was pitiful compared to the rest of the series and this not much better in my opinion. This is easily one of my least favorite story arcs ever, seeing as it is so small and simply focuses on two characters, Lucifer is one of them and although he is interesting in both issues of the story arc, he doesn't do anything utterly amazing that could make up for the lack of anything else. The other character is Sol...

Cain and Abel? 0

Okay, though I really enjoyed this issue, there was also a lot of weirdness in it, namely Cain and Abel who do intrigue me quite a bit, which is the reason for them being the title of this review. Anyways, the basic plot of this issue is Morpheus returning to The Dreaming and finding it drastically changed and trying to regain his strength so all can be restored, thus beginning his quest to once again possess his three power items, the helm, the ruby and the pouch. Now, for my views on some parts...

GO LADY DEATH! 0

Okay, I will admit, as a comic this would severely be lacking since it has no story, no text in fact, but I am not judging it as a comic, I'm judging it as what it is, a pin-up book. And as a pin-up book it was great! For one thing, I have always loved Lady Death, originally because she was a great character and recently because her art is so awesome in her comics. Secondly, I have always seen myself as a leather and lace kind of guy so that made it even better. My favorite picture amongst the e...

Okay, this has got to be in the top five worst Tarot comics ever! This was a complete waste of my time and I can't believe I ever read anything so stupid but then again, I said I would read this series through till the end, and I'm beginning to regret it. I mean sure the art in this issue was actually quite nice, or it would be if it wasn't so obviously intended to simply be some little pornographic story. The basic storyline is Tarot taking off her clothes in the first page and then preceding t...

New Favorite Character? 0

Okay, so having read the Lucifer series and really enjoying I learned of this series, The Sandman, the story that came before Lucifer and after hearing numerous good things about it from numerous people I became really excited to read it...so now I have read the first issue...and it was amazing! Truthfully I have no idea what to compare it to, seeing as I've never read a comic like it, but basically it is a timeline in the lives of various people, yet they are not the main characters, it was jus...

Loved It! 0

Okay, first off, I must say that I read this comic not because I had read the book before or for that matter because I usually read these style of comics at all but because someone suggested it to me and the comic did not disappoint. In fact, I enjoyed the comic so much I really want to read the book as well now.The story itself was quite interesting, I admit I don't have much of a taste for male vampire strippers but still the story interested me, I loved how throughout the comic you always get...

The Coming of Armageddon... 0

This issue is the first in a four part series that happens to be one of my favorite story arcs ever and I have to say that its start is flawless. All the mystery behind what is going on, what this thing is within the crop circle, all the cameo appearances of all your favorite Chaos characters, its all in here. However, my absolute favorite part of the issue would have to be the last two pages, the first of the two displaying a split page focusing on a dozen Chaos characters and the fact that the...

MATURE READERS SUGGESTED 0

Now this issue of the comic I am a little divided upon, for one I dislike it for the reason there is no real plot to the issue as the basis of it is Jon giving Raven a bath cause she can't with her injuries and him feeling very awkward about it. Admittedly this ends up in several humorous events which is why I enjoy this issue but I am going to admit, not many likely share my taste of humor in this issue, so I will explain why I love it. You see, I always enjoyed Jon as a character and the fact ...

Okay, I can admit at times the sexuality in an issue concerning Boo can be entertaining but all-in-all I don't often read comics to be entertained but to find a story and this story doesn't do it for me. First off, I'm not really the biggest fan of Licorice Dust or Boo so learning about them isn't that appealing to me seeing as they are poor characters. However, the wolf attacking Boo was okay, nothing spectacular, but at least it brought a little action into the comic, but otherwise this was no...

This has to be one of my favorite issues in the Tarot series, first off I will give a forewarning that although there is nudity in this issue, in my opinion it is all tasteful and fits well with the story. However, that is not the reason I love this issue so much, I love this issue because it is really a darker story, one of my favorite things about Tarot is the darker themes, the more villainous villains, something that disappears in time yet is still preserved in this early issue. Here we get ...

Uhh...is this in the Right Series? 0

When you read this issue, you could very easily be mistaken in thinking it has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the Lucifer series but there you would be wrong, well at least partially. In truth the main character of this story is a one-shot character but the lead secondary character does make another small appearance sometime later in the series. The relevance of the story in this issue however confuses me, though it could just be related to saying, "One man's trash is another man's tr...

Surprises! 0

Okay, this issue has finally come to settle upon two stories, both of which tell of a common theme, that even when you think you are victorious and your holding all the cards, that which you are trying to defeat may already have won. For in the story with Mazikeen, Scoria prepares himself for their mating ritual only to learn that all along she was simply waiting for him to become off guard and she has him slain by his own servants. As for Lucifer, well, the revelations in this issue are truly a...

Climax! 0

Though this is not the finale of the Inferno story arc, it is within these pages that the very fight I have been craving for so long finally begins, well sort of. Here we see several stories as usual, Scoria torturing Mazikeen being one I found to be very droll. But of course then there is the story of Lucifer, an amazing new side to him, when he has to fight feelings of self-doubt, when he doesn't even have the willpower to attend the duel in which he shall battle Amenadiel. Yet help comes to h...

Lucifer's Assassin 0

Wow! Okay this issue has to have some of my favorite art in the series, not because I wish the entire series were like this, I just enjoy the shift from the regular artistry to something new and different as it can give you a different outlook on a character you thought you knew so well. In this issue the sabotage of which Remiel, Arux and Amenadiel are planning begins to take form as they recruit an assassin, a creature that should very easily be able to take care of Lucifer but he is warned by...

A Fine Read 0

Issue 29 is a great read in the Lucifer series, and personally I see it as quite an enjoyable comic indeed, the only thing is after such an amazing story arc as Purgatorio, I have a much higher set of expectations but nonetheless this was a very good comic in its own right. In this issue, things get set into motion that will be leading up to the long awaited duel between Lucifer and Amenadiel. We have Amenadiel treacherously planning to ensure his victory through sabotage, Lucifer being proved a...

A Story Without Lucifer...Just Isn't the Same 0

You see, I have to admit, as foolish as it may sound, the main reason I love the series Lucifer so much is because Lucifer is in it...he's a great character, and I love to see the way he thinks, it truly fascinates me. And thanks to a cast of other characters that surround him that also have some good stories themselves, I really enjoy the series. But when I get to an issue that is about to "fallen cherubs" trying to accomplish something and in the end failing, I wonder what did I just read? I m...

The End of The Basanos... 0

This issue displayed the spectacular return of Lucifer, as well as Meleos at his best (or at least in my opinion at his best) as well as The Basanos at...well, at their worst I guess. I, for the first time, actually saw Meleos as a cool character in this issue when he decided to face his demons and battled the Basanos, even when defeat was inevitable, at that shining moment he was amazing, though I think I would like him better now if he had died, would have been more...dramatic. Death!!! 0

Okay, this issue was awesome, my first real look at one of The Endless and I can assure you, I enjoyed it and am even more excited to read Sandman one day. This story was just utterly awesome in every way, just from every word shared between Death and Lucifer ...to Meleos' using of a young girl to resurrect the man he once despised...to Lucifer now owing his life to Elaine because she sacrificed her own, unwittingly of course, to restore his. I also enjoyed to see how Death seemed to be kindhear...

Favorite Story Arc EVER! 0

Okay, I can safely say that Purgatorio is going to be my favorite story arc in this series yet! This is some awesome stuff here, from The Basanos impregnating Jill Presto and making her impervious to harm to Meleos watching over Lucifer's charred corpse and Elaine being guarded by a fallen cherub, and Death making an appearance at the end of the issue to make everything absolutely perfect, I love it! I never would have expected any of these things yet there the absolute coolest ideas a writer co...
