@dccomicsrule2011: The EU is in a messy place. I've considered it fan-fiction since I first heard about it. I'll gladly agree to disagree, just don't take my argument seriously. It's my bias opinion.
@dccomicsrule2011: But never established as it's own universe. EU fans lead themselves to believe it was a part of the main continuity, so don't say it was always considered a separate canon. Disney also never stated it was a separate universe. "Legends" is more of a collection than anything. Lucas never said it wasn't part of the main continuity, but he also never said it it was. Actually, he said the movies were the only canon works.
@dccomicsrule2011: It's more akin to fan-fic groups on ComicVine. Ultimate Marvel are actual Marvel comics written and published by Marvel as an established universe of it's own. "That was stated by people working for Lucasfilm themselves." Good for them. Unfortunately for them, Lucas had full control over the canonicity of the Star Wars universe and stated himself that only the movies were canon. It was later stated by the new owners (i.e. Disney) that it was not canon. They did not in any way imply that it's anything like the Ultimate Marvel universe.
