Villains and Heroes that should be reinvented

There's no such thing as a bad villain or hero, it's just perspective, but to keep up with today instead of creating tons of new villains and heroes, some artists should try and take these guys who had so much potential and try and reinvent them with a modern aspect or twist.

List items

  • He was so odd, yet really interesting. Maybe show off what spawned this creature, maybe a downed alien ship, modern twist, have a humanoid intelligent Rainbow Creature who can utilize all seven colors.

  • I love the idea of him being a true anti-flash. Maybe make him more technological with a bulky turtle like suit which can absorb kinetic energy and speed-force slowing things down, then releasing them in blasts of kinetic energy.

  • Okay the giant penny in the bat-cave, already perfect way to reintroduce him. Have him as a child growing up with social and learning disabilities who took to coin collecting to get away from his abusive parents. He became obsessed with coins and their value, and will stop at nothing to acquire a coin for his collection.

  • Okay yes a questionable villain, but when he first started out early in Wonder Woman's history. Have him be a tormented man, who grew up incredibly short (but not a midget) mocked for being a mouse not a man. He wears a leather mouse mask and costume and uses stolen tech from Rat-catcher, to control mice and rats with sonic frequencies.

  • I know he's been "modernized" but still I don't think he was done as well as he should be. Have him be an emaciated asylum inmate who has extreme psychic abilities and can control people's minds and implant psychic suggestions for them to commit crimes for him outside of the asylum. Maybe have him be a criminal genius, and can scan whole cities minds easily.

  • Okay here's an oldie, yes his power is lame but tweek it a bit and the possibilities is limb-itless :D . Okay no puns, reinvent him in a full body black suit with grey lines and hand prints all over it, then give him the power detach any part of his body and have it move independently of the body by levitation. Though the name has to go. Have a good name? Post the idea in the comments.

  • Okay say what ever you want, I love Killer Moth. The idea of an anti-Batman serving for the freedom of criminals everywhere is great, but everyone thinks of him as a joke. First maybe give him a multi-colored cloak, some very interesting gadgets, (keep the cocoon gun but make it lethal and can maybe fire different cocoon capsules), and actually, please make him an equal to Batman and an actual threat.

  • Okay as he is, it's getting somewhere...Have him an ex-biochemical scientist who worked with food before being fired for designing a coma inducing additive. He uses biochemicals, and genetically engineered foods and plants and chemicals. Uses some of Poison Ivy's mind control plants.

  • I really don't know...His power's have so much potential...Maybe redesign his costume. But the dots are such a great idea, have him literally be obsessed with circles, after seeing his police officer dad fall into a pit death-trap and staring at it for hours. High-tech gadget suit, yes.

  • Okay, in my head, he is to Plastic Man as Batman is to Joker. Plastic Man, while humorous is still considered a very serious part of DC canon, why not have Kite-Man be a foil to Plastic Man, an ex-philanthropist who turned to crime after his son was killed by a lightning strike to a kite. Costume redesign though.

  • Okay yes, I like the under-dog. He has color related powers, why not relate him to the lanterns? Back Story: After years of mixed emotions of serving with the Legion of Substitute Heroes, he bonded with an Oan anomaly, a blank power ring which would allow him to use the abilities of any of the seven power rings depending on which emotion he was feeling. For example when angry he can project the corrosive red mist or when greedy create constructs of people with all the same powers.

  • It's a living mathematical equation that can wipe people's brains. As a hero he's alright but I'd love to see him as a villain, programmed to cause as much damage and chaos as possible. As a yellow lantern or even an orange lantern? It can load itself onto people's minds to control them or control machines. Or keep him a hero who's stayed alive for millions of years and fights crime in the far future at the end of time.

  • He's just a generally very well written but people don't take him seriously, for every hero or villain who can fly or breath under water, why can't there be a sky-water villain. Though I love his costume maybe make the colors a bit more realistic and no letters. Maybe blue, purple, and indigo.

  • A perfectly good villain everyone makes fun of. Okay the suit is a bit much, tone down the stripes maybe to a zebra stripe trench coat and zebra stripe mowhawk and give him glasses and a don't-give-a-shit attitude. Let him keep the diamagnetic powers but maybe much more control, to be able to repel specific things at very high speeds, maybe alter magnetic frequencies to even cause mental problems and hallucinations.

  • Okay, one of the coolest serial killer. But by himself not that big of a threat, but as the hit man for Calender Man? Yes. "The Long Christmas" yes. It's all about how he's used, but he's generally very good.

  • Okay currently he is a villain of the 853rd century, the supposed futuristic ghost of Joker bound to a hyper-advanced suit. Let's have him time-travel back to modern times and fight Batman and the Joker in an attempt to absorb their energies.

  • He's a relativity unknown villain, a clone of Guy Gardner. Have him become a very advanced bio-tech Manhunter like android but with a rage lantern battery in it's chest and a red power ring. It can project and shape the red burning energy, it can feed on surrounding anger it has a psyche downloaded into it.

  • He's not DC but inserting himself into the DC universe have the mask have a 5th dimensional being (like Bat-Mite) sealed inside it, so who ever dons the mask if a good wearer, their sanity is slowly drained in return for matter, mass, density, space, and energy manipulation. He can telepathically communicate with the being named Low-Key, the 5th dimensional sealed inside it.

  • Very little about him but great concept, man who viewed humans as the true insects and the insects as the true people of the world. Transferred his mind as a hive mind into a swarm of cockroaches can control each individual one, can communicate with insects and control them.

  • Love the power. Give him an alien device scans any objects atomic makeup so can turn into anything natural or organic and can convert cells in body into materials, wears advanced techno-suit.

  • Haven't seen him since Knightfall (personally) but give him a serious grudge and need for vengeance against Scarecrow whose fear toxins drove him crazy, he kills his victims in ways related to their phobias, uses fear based gas toxin.

  • The Santa Claus of Earth-3, he travels through the dimensions killing of versions of himself, he can channel the emotion good or bad of the holidays to power himself, he is a powerful cryokinetic abilities and weapons.

  • Yes I know, he's currently very meh. I like his quirkyness, how about an ex- forensics master, that's arrested for sabotaging a crime scene. He now works for a price completly erasing all evidence from crime scenes (not partially like the original, totally) uses spray which can dissolve finger prints and and remove DNA traces. Keep the suit but maybe take off the mask, light red hair and pink glasses. Classy.

Brilliant ideas, I'm currently making my own list and was looking around to see if anyone had thought of making a similar list. I love your idea for the Eraser
