This is infuriating. And it is the sort of thing I will totally drop Marvel for if it turns out to be the case (I've done it before). The fact that we all know it's motivated by spite for Fox just goes to show you how little Marvel actually cares about us as fans and as consumers, evidently we're just collateral when they want to piss off some studio exec slob. The kicker is that all those big wigs are making outrageous amounts of money regardless, Pietro being in two franchises or Wanda being in two franchises would never stop that from being the case. Most regular people who don't know anything of the characters couldn't be bothered to care anyways.

It angers me so much because this past summer I bought a paperback of "Nights of Wundagore" and I realized that around that very time the next year, it would be the 10 year anniversary of "The House of M". It would be 10 years whole years, a decade since I started to get invested in Marvel comics and it really had a lot to do with that dysfunctional family tree (which I'd seen in X-men: Evolution). I loved Scarlet Witch most but, by osmosis, got interested in the EPIC story of her origin and her lineage, and her family which included Magneto, obviously. Any interaction between the members of that family would be a few dollars out of my pocket, I couldn't get enough of it! Now, allllllll of that is potentially down the s--tter because Marvel just plain doesn't care about me or people like me who supported them when they had no movie franchises at all.

If you don't care or think Marvel is justified in this, you're a fool. Because next, they'll screw you over too. They just love playing with your feelings with their finger on the killswitch of 616 just in hopes that you buy their product, they couldn't care less. They need to know the fans of the comics aren't just joe schmoes who roll into the theaters, we're actually paying attention.

The butthurt is strong in this one.

You are worthless.

and you are still butthurt, it seems.

I wouldn't be interested in them doing the overdone "anti-hero", "dark side" thing with Jean, honestly. That usually comes down to "character is now an asshole because the world is sooooo dark" and it is rarely ever truly interesting. Having the character go dark is the easiest story path to take and her first take on the "hero goes dark" story is still the best take yet. DPS.

I think that righteously vengeful streak we see in Jean sometimes, like when she beats the crap out of Sabretooth or when she ransacked Emma's mind, is about as dark as Jean needs to be. It's just enough for her to have an edge without it being cliche and without making her yet another boring, faux-layered anti-hero character like Marvel wants 50% of it's characters to be.

It's either cliche anti-hero or lolsorandom joke character these days. No need to add any more characters to those lists for a good, long while.

Jean's "good girl with a rarely-seen edge" character is refreshing. She can run with your boyscout Caps and your stabby Wolverines and that's a good character to have around. Why have everything be so same-y?

nice

Such hater tears.
