Hey there! I understand that Diana's: still one of DC's strongest characters, still on a par with Supes and just a couple others. I like that she can fly under her own steam rather than rely on an object. I dont agree that a character of WWs power levels should carry an obselete weapon like a sword or a shield (as she's been depicted with in the past), only her lasso (as it adds value).

Mike Deodato, then Adam Hughes, then the Byrne/Perez combo on Action Comics 600, then Jose Delbo, then Dick Dillin. Phew!

Aside from use in a sales & marketing campaign or as a media sound-bite, I struggle to accept the premise that: a character's value and legacy can/must/should be able to be summed up in a sentence or two. This thread has crystallised for me, that WW's current direction is predicated on that premise and hence the reduced sales figures.

@Power_Guy: You have nailed in writing what I have been seeing and feeling about the current WW, book and characterisation. I skim read the current interpretation at the comics stores as I adore the character & and want to check in with how the character is doing but unfortunately I don't enjoy the writing and artwork sufficiently enough to buy the run. A 2nd superhero action oriented WW book? Depending on the artist, THAT I might buy.

@jphulk26: I agree with you and your comments. I adore this character and have been through multiple writers (Rucka, Byrne, Perez, Thomas, Conway, Giffen/DeMatteis, Heinberg), artists (Byrne, Perez, Hughes, Dodson, Delbo, Dillin) re-boots and interpretations of WW since the 70s. I've also read reprints of her 40's and 50's & 60's comics. Unfortunately, the current writing and artwork doesn't attract me enough to pay money for this latest iteration of WW (eek..sorry Brian and Cliff)
