Am I the only one glad that the Spider-Boy name is finally being used? Regardless of how you feel about the actual character, I find it absurd its taken Marvel this long to utilise the name.

Back in the day, Marvel and DC rushed to lock down character names/alternate names of existing characters to prevent the other from stealing it first.

You'd think "Spider-Boy" would be Marvel's top priority to secure. Instead, they essentially wasted it on the Amalgam character, which I assume got the name stuck in legal shenanigans between Marvel and DC, and thus why the name hasn't been used (by Marvel) since.

I wonder if Disney had to step in to get the new solo book running, as I originally assumed it'd be a Captain Marvel/Shazam situation (where they might not have been able to title it "Spider-Boy"). Regardless, I'm just glad the name's finally being used by Marvel.

Again, you'd think locking down "Spider-Boy" would have been their priority years ago.

After. And it seems like 90% of his new fans are primarily teenagers.

Because there is a baiter known as Vishop who continuously tries to degrade others’ opinions when he makes these types of threads if they support MCU and make derogatory comments about them .

Literally. Him and the others will make polls comparing something like The Godfather to Ant-Man, and dare you to say the latter. If you do, they're always the first to respond and be like "What? How dare you", then shame you for it and have everybody else jump on you.

Again, it's just sad and obvious. They know what they're doing.

@vishop_: Lmao, you know the ridiculous comparison polls you make, and the other guys. Everybody knows how ridiculous they are, but "likeminded" people like you partake in it because it's an opportunity to take cheap shots at the MCU. It's actually sad.

It's even more hilarious how you're trying to pretend you don't know what you're doing.

@vishop_: I literally just said why "NO" - you are purposely trying to compare completely different movies to put down one over the other. Again, with ridiculous comparisons like Guardians of the Galaxy vs The Departed, or something as hilarious as She's The Man vs Schindler's List (jesus).

You guys are never subtle about it. You know what type of reactions you want.

@vishop_: No; you're purposely trying to compare completely different movies like Happy Feet to 12 Years A Slave. You're just making obvious bait.

The comparisons you've done are downright weird.

What is with all the bait threads about MCU movies vs this or that movie?

There should be no such thing as "Guardians of the Galaxy vs The Departed" (there have been worse comparisons, even). That's not a knock on the former film; it's just obvious bait.

Stop it.

It's so obvious people are making these threads as an easy way to crap on the MCU. It's just pathetic.

@rebake: for all the wrong reasons tho. We shouldn't even be at the stage of Spideys identity being public already... sigh.

@mazahs117: what I was saying was that even though he is swinging around helping people, I wish they showed people still being creeped out or wary of him regardless. Yes, saving people should garner respect. But realistically there would still be people out there not on board with him. There was one line in Amazing Spider-Man 2 where a guy (during one of the montages...) said he wanted Spidey to "get out of the way and let the police do their job!" - I just wish the movies showed things like that more often. Part of the fun in the comics is how his reputation isn't perfect compared to guys like Captain America or the Fantastic Four.

But instead in the movies, besides JJJ, everyone sees and treats Spidey like he's Superman/Mr. Celebrity which was always a bit much for me.

I think Sony didn't go for it in their movies because Spidey was the only superhero in their world back then... But with Disney/the MCU, they have a ton of heroes in their world already (like the Avengers) that are already shown as beloved celebrities. They had a chance to change it up with Spidey for once but they didn't. I don't know why. It's not like it'd be dark or anything, it makes no sense.
