 Hello Comic Vine!

I know many of you have tatoos and many of you do not - but I still am curious to know your opinion! recently I have just had my third Tatoo. I got a little design which is, I guess, more or less and artistic take on my initials. It's a red "J A"  with a black border but the A is actually a star at the top of my back just below the neckline. Anywho this is my third tattoo. My 2nd is my super hero tattoo which is a red Spider-man 3 style spider on my right shoulder. My first tatoo is about the size of a tennis ball. It stars  2 inches to the right of my navel and goes kinda into the top of the "V" area . It's a Pentogram. No! I am not a devil worshiper. It's actually the design from one of my favorite movies of all time - Tim Burton's "Sleepy Hollow" - (Ya know - the "circle of protection symbol" Katrina draws in the church attack scene - did I mention this was my first Tattoo?)  - I actually am glad I got it because of all the things I have learned about symbolism and such through it.  I am looking to get another tattoo. Something for my left shoulder (ah tattoos and potato chips - it's so hard to get just one)... Here are some of the things I have been thinking of  - Tell me what you think!! Which of these ideas below is your favorite?

1 - I am a dinosaur fanatic - My favorite is either Allosaurus or Arcanthrosaurus. I have been thinking of doing the skull of one of these awesome dinosaurs.

2 - I have thought since my right shoulder is the red spider-man 3 spider that my left shoulder should be a spider-symbol as well. Not the same design but maybe the old style oval kinda spider that is on the back of the "older" spider-man outfit.  I have also thought about getting the actual "spider-symbol' design - ya know - the circle with the eyes and web -face?

My only dilema with these is that I am not as much of a Spider-man Fan anymore. Like many comic book fans who got a bad taste in their mouth from OMD, I don't buy the comics very often. I bought "new ways to die" but any of the other storylines have yet to really impress me.  I know some of you die hards are now calling I laser off my first Spidey tat - Sorry.

3 - I have also thought of getting the classic Venom symbol on this shoulder - either the movie one from Spider-man 3 or the old school one. But I kinda hesitate on this as well (see reasons above)

4 - I really like Wonder Woman now -however getting a strong Wonder Woman tattoo in today's society without it  being considerd overly efeminate is well a bit of a challenge.

5 - Can't think of any really masculine Birds of Prey tattoos either.

6 - I LOVE Tim Burton and The Nightmare Before Christmas - Been thinking of getting Either a Jack Skellington or a Victor or an emily.

7 - I  am also kindof a pinup fanatic - I think a great one would be a Bettie page influenced girl in a 50's style housedress....holding an axe behing her back.

Well Those are the one I have been considering.... What do you think?

K - I see alot of posts on this in the Wonder Woman board. There is even another topic kinda like this. I hope that maybe someone else will see this though as I would like to truley express my feelings on the subject. Everyone is excited for the Wonder Woman TV show. Some people are saying that she will be just as they imagine her in comics. Personally I know that the World and TV seem to not be ready for my version of Wonder Woman - here is some reasons why.

My Wonder Woman is a WOMAN - Bridgette Reagan is pushing it and especially if they are thinking of Making her a buisness executive. I think Wonder Woman should be older or at least old enough. Donna Troy is the Young Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman is a Woman. Nuff said. We don't need to take away her age so that the majority will find her more attractive.

My Wonder Woman is a Warrior. She looks good in her outfits but that is not because she is skinny with enormous jugs and a nice tan. My Wonder Woman would be not only beautiful but intimidating for most skinny comic nerds - I am not saying she should be built and ripped like a body builder - but she should be muscular. She looks like she can take a punch. She also looks like she can dish them out as well. Seriously the closest women that I think look like Wonder Woman and her Amazon Sisters would be the girls from American Gladiatiors. This other girl - the one that posed for Maxim and are saying is wonder woman? No.

My Wonder Woman would have all of my favorite powers:
I like the lasso of truth, If you don't then that's your problem. My Wonder Woman hit Superman on the side of the head and made his ears bleed. My Wonder Woman fought a large number of the Justice League by herself - blindfolded. My Wonder Woman was hit by power girl so hard she went through several floors of a parking structure and came back to kick ass. My Wonder Woman is a Champion of the Gods with the ability to Fight other gods should it be necessary. I admit the bracletsare a little old  school - but they are part of the history and the Charecter. They are part of my Wonder Woman.  My Wonder Wman can talk to animals. My Wonder Woman has the vision of the gods.

English is not my Wonder Woman's Native Language so therfore when speaking it she has a twinge of a Greek Accent.

As I said my Wonder Woman is a warrior, more so than Batman or Superman. Don't believe me? Compare their fighting styles in the comics and you will see. There is a reason why Wonder Woman is Black Canary's Favorite to watch.   My Wonder Woman is also a beautiful Woman in her Mind and in her Heart. She is kind, caring, fierce, empathetic, bold, angry, passionate, broken hearted, confused, curious, and loving.

- This, however, is not what TV and the mainstream media want for their Wonder Woman. I Excpect her powers to be less than they are in the comics. I expect a skinny girl in size 0 pants running around being portrayed blandly and badly. I will let you get back to your debate over which skinny hollywood actress looks sexiest in a wonder woman costume......

Pretty as a Peach! PRETTY AS A PEACH! LOOK AT HER - THAT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A WOMAN! It's a female skinny girl thing a digusting fashion model created by ads that tell us powerful women are skinny twigs that fit into size 0 pants. That is an anerexic stick with Hi cheek bones. That is no warrior - That could not even take a punch - That is no wonder woman.

LOOK at HER -  GEEZUS SHE HAD BETTER GET TO THE BLIGGEN GYM!!

If you are skinny enough that I would bet against you a fight with a small and sickly rooster then you need to work out - I heard that  Christian Bale Gained All sorts of Muscle before he played Batman. She had better do the same.

In my opinion if you can't do 50 pushups - then you should not be playing somone who can in the comic books - just because your "cute". If we want SuperGirls in Movies that don't suck then we gotta set the same standard for them as we do for the Superguys - You gotta look tough.

This guy had better get in the Gym too - LOOK AT HIM! HE IS PULLING THE UNCLE RICO FROM NAPOLEON DYNAMITE MOVE! - "I am buff, really I am, Just look at how big my biceps are when I fold my arms....."

I hope they redeem Bayne too - I think even Arkham Assylum did not do him up right.....

I definetly drop titles - but I may pick up an issue here are there if I like I think I will pick up.

I dropped Spider-man - but I sort of keep track of him. I wait and see if the graphic novel is any good and then I will buy that.  Really sucks when you love the charecter enough to get a large tatoo only to not like the majority of the comic books they are in. :( - I bought some one shots like the "many loves of Spider-man"
and Spider-man Seige...

I like Birds Of Prey but I did not like them as much after added they Big Barda to the team and moved to Metropolis - I love this second series they have going by the way......

Wonder Woman has become one of my very favorites as well, but I told my wife that I might not re-new my subscription if she continues to not be as awesome as she was.

I guess somtimes I hang on to a series if I can see a point that they might still be able to fix things - In spider-man's case I couldn't see that happening....

In the special features on the Green Lantern DVD they talk about "Blackest Night". Dan Dido mentions that after "Blackest Night" whoever is dead or whoever dies - is dead. No more resurections?

@WDW:
Not all writers for Wonder Woman emphasized the costume and not the hero....

- I thought Gail Simone's Stories were awesome - the fight with Genocide? awesome.
- Greg Rucka is one of my favorite Wonder Woman writers, how can you not like the stuff he did?
- Jodi Picolt suggested adding straps to the Wonder Woman outfit  and I will admit that  I have to agree with that. She did very well on her short Wonder Woman run I thought..
- One of my favorite Writers has been Phil Jiminez - There is a story that he did where Lois Lane follows Wonder Woman for a day that is really one of the greatest Wonder Woman stories ever told.

JMS had a younger, more voilent Wonder Woman who was learning to use her powers - I thought it was...meh.

Wonder Woman has a real franchise - its just that most stupid regular comic fans don't have the balls to like her . They don't give her a real chance because they feel they will be less "manly", for liking her stories or something crappy like that. It's not just Wonder Woman. Marvel has yet to make a good strong Female Charecter in a movie as well. I think we can expect to see "iron fist" before any really good super heroine gets a movie.

Seriously - I don't work for Fox News - In fact  I don't even have a working TV that gets any sort of signal .....

@WDW:
I do work for Fox news in fact - It's my job to drain Sean Hannity's Ego. If his head starts to swell too much I have to sneak behind his desk get it back to normal size without being noticed.

I see also I typed my first questions to fast. What I was wondering is if you perfer the lightning blue superman? ah yes there is my typing...

I was really upset about the Wonder Woman costume change, until I started to compare with other hero changes. We have seen Black Spider-man,Ben Reily's Spider-man,Iron Spider, Electric Blue Superman, Azreal's Batman, Frakencastle, Superman with a ponytail,  etc. etc.. some of these changes seemed like they were the right idea at the time, but in each situation the public awaited the day when the hero would return to their original garb they were made famous for...

The only popular hero I can think of who can change his outfit without much public outcry is wolverine.
