I just recently went out and bought Deadpool: Pulp. It's a pretty decent origins story that takes place in the 50's. There's some very original kills and some pretty funny ones too, but i'm not going to spoil anything. There are flashbacks of him in a japanese pow camp that kind of throw off the story because it never lets you know by saying anything like "10 years earlier", but otherwise i'd give it a thumbs up.
What kind of deaths are there? A few years ago in high school my friend turned me onto the Marvel Zombie comics. There's a healthy amount of blood, as the Marvel heroes fight off their own friends and try to save the planet. One of my favorite series by far and i highly recomend it. And you get to see what it'd be like if Magneto fought off a horde of zombie/heroes :D
I have this story and at first i felt the same. I just kind of re-read the ending in total disbelief of how shitty a ending they came up with. But then it set in and i realized that's almost a perfect ending because that's what Deadpool's all about. He's friggin nuts, dude. (side note: just read Deadpool Pulp and it's pretty awesome. Thumbs up)
Having an awesome sense of humor, a love of violence, and being quite fugly myself, I relate to him more than other characters :D Also he's one of the few mutants that are able to take on wolverine with a fighting chance. And while not exactly being a hero, he can act as necessary without having to think about the good or bad morality of what hes doing, whilst adding some pazzaz
