Well, the New Mutants were formed during a time when the X-Men were believed dead since they were off in space. The New Mutants movie could do something similar and say the X-Men are gone/dead/disappeared.
I felt the show was just far too bloated for its own good. I think it would have made for a really tight 5 or 6 episode mini series, but it was way too bogged down with far too many extraneous characters and sub-plots.
I really hope they don't make a second season and just incorporate her into the other shows instead.
Re: All the "Cap and Bucky can't beat Iron Man!" talk...
Remember in the comic Cap used a handheld device to shut his armor down. In the trailer there's a shot at 1:59 of Bucky clearly doing something to the arc reactor on Tony's chest. Obviously the armor is powered down/weakened during that fight.
Just finished watching it and while it didn't dislike it, it was definitely ponderous. It could easily have been five episodes long with 75% less characters. 3/5
@sachmoo: They established that the whatever it is on the planet could mess with people's heads, make them see things and drive them mad. I wouldn't be surprised if it was manipulating her into believing that all happened to her. As I criticized the episode when we saw it all happen to her, everything was too convenient and too easy for her when she was there, to the point of it looking like terrible writing, when the show has been good about subverting such things.
This new revelation is lending itself to my theory that everything that happened to Simmons was possibly a lie and she is being manipulated into freeing the entity.
