Yea we would be better, if the mods let people do grammar edits. The only way you can get an edit is if you make some big contribution to a wikipage. Many times I see articles that are full of awful errors both spelling and grammar wise. To me I think it makes us look less professional than Wikipedia. 

Sometimes articles are terrrible on websites and it's my nerd heart that makes go and fix as many as possible the friends and family section and the enemies really annoys me as people forget big friends or enemies. And even some other stuff is annoying to like Cassandra Cain not having and article but the mantle of Batgirl has one itself or Thom Kallor's page is the threeboot legion even though he has went back in time and became the Starman in JSA and that page doesn't go into much detail.

Also to comicvines credit, copying from another source is discouraged here. Wikipedia has alot of it's material directly copied and pasted from other sites, while comicvine likes original source material. 

A suggestion though... If people went around searching for the comics that weren't covered in the wiki's yet that would help alot. Like the other week I was looking at a few really popular comic issues and noone had written anything about them yet. I'd say what they were but I'm already writing some articles for them to post up so I'd rather not have it go to waste.

Well I am working on the Silver Surfer novel, it just takes time to go through all the comics. Just make sure you don't add everything, then you lose people. I only include major events. Example: Silver Surfer does something for a few issues with say, the Collector. I put that on Collector's page.

No detail is to small. Be nerdy about it. After you get 1000 points you can edit whatever. I know I have gone to someone's page that has all the info and corrected their grammar and spelling and separated it so it is easier to read. No one likes 100 sentence paragraphs. I usually don't change anyone's info unless it is incorrect.

You want to get points fast? Grab the books you have and write plot summaries for them. That will get you 80 to 120 points easy. I do it still just so anyone who doesn't have them can maybe find some info they are looking for.

I, for one, am trying my best to make this site WAY better than Wikipedia.

It would help if more people would do some editing as well. About only 3% of the members do any editing and only half of that amount has more than 1000 points.

Anyway, the Vine is still better than Wikipedia. We have reviews, forums, appearance counts, comic covers with plots synopsis and PERSONALITY. Wiki is lifeless.

Agreed, thogh they're mostly longer due to movie references, I imagine.

I did used to use the Wikipedia before Comic Vine ^_^

To be honest and I don't want to get into any argument here, but as far as character info goes wikipedia is far better then comicvine. Sure the vine has more abstract characters, but there are some characters that have no info at all. Granted I know the vine does encourage the fans to contribute to the character page creation, but some of that info is spotty at best. I won't get into the grammer and spelling mistakes because I know there are alot of users that english isn't their first language. But for everything else, like what issues certain characters are in and the most part enemies and friends list are far superior. Also the forums, reviews, and previews are indespensible parts of the comic book world. Also the general attitude of the people in charge is better.

You know, I've been meaning to edit some issues I saw need some info but have been feeling too lazy to do so. I'll remind myself to edit them sooner or later.

The Comic vine has a lot of competition for best comic book website.  Not the least of which being Comic Book Resources.
