Storm was heavily powered down in the movie. But yeah, you'd think she could have at least helped Jean.

Yes... but she secretly wanted everyone to die, just like the comic version of her. 

She could have and so could iceman, Cyclops could have diverted it by using an optic blast to dig a quick trench, Magneto could have used the metal all over the facility to make a makeshift damn, or Jean could have lifted the Xjet from inside it and not had to deal with the flood

Yeah, technically Storm could have done numerous things in the movie, but then there wouldn't have been a need for the others.   And of course, Phoenix had to look like she was more powerful than the rest of them.   Just like how in X2 she (Storm) acts as if she couldn't have stopped the missiles attacking the Blackbird.  Then Wolverine goes on with his "some display of power up there" speech, even though Storm had just made several tornadoes appear out of thin air.  But Jean stopping one missile was such a great display of power.    *rolls eyes*

Wolverine's healing factor was capable of regenerating matter on a molecular level within microseconds. Jean was able to rip apart matter on a molecular level against multiple targets at once. Both of these two had greater feats than Storm or Magneto.

I'm going to have to watch the movie again because I only remember a couple tornadoes, not hundreds. Plus tornadoes probably wouldn't have helped in that situation, probably just would have made things worse.

Yeah but me personally i count Jean as regular Jean Grey and Dark  Phoenix separate,its a huge power gap.Besides If we go through just all characters feat x-1--in x-2 it would be between Storm and Magneto . 
 Though i agree, Wolverine while plot device still had very powerful healing factor and Jean could rip apart matter.

I'm a Cyclops fan, you don't need to tell me how bad X-3 is :P   Fair enough if you separate X2 and X3 Jean's, the power difference is huge. And X3 was BS in terms of power levels anyway.   I'd actually put Storm above Magneto in terms of feats (in the movieverse) though. All he did was catch the Blackbird, lift some cars and screw with Cerebro. Storm organised dozens of tornadoes, while being shot at, to attack multiple foes flying at speeds over several hundred miles an hour.   Oh, but Jean blew up ONE missile, so Storm's showing was hardly "some display of power". Fail, writers, fail.

Yes sir,i agree X-3 was a mess..but being an X-men fan i still watched it and still bought the dvd =P   lol,shame on meh...   but very true everything you stated was correct.Though the only parts i liked about X-3 is Beast( spot on acting Kelsey!!) Kitty<3(adorable) ,Iceman transforming his entire body to ice,Storm flying,cool stunts and having a leadership role Magneto and that Golden gate bridge....thats it.  Hated Scotts death,though it was never shown (and a x-4 is currently in production,so who knows) Hated Mystique's sacrifice Hated Juggernaut's voice =/(BTW nothing against Australian,it's a sexy accent)  Hate the wrong depiction of Phoenix,which BTW messed up a lot of new X-men and Jean fans thinking she was born with it,when actually she encountered Phoenix in space...lol Hated the focus on Logan..well that's all of the movies i hated that.

Juggs was British in X-3. And yes, we Aussies do have sexy accents :P   There was a LOT of things wrong with X-3. And I agree with you on those being the only enjoyable parts. Colossus was one of the main X-Men, and barely had one line. It was not well written or directed. Just a mess all around.  I have the dvd as well :P

No. Because they played Storm wrong in the movies. And she wasn't all that interesting. My personal belief, though, is that Jean Grey could have saved them without sacrificing herself.

Actually Jean destroying that missile was an impressive display of power for her, if you consider her feats in the movies up to this point. As for the flood, don't know if Storm could stop it on her own but she could definitely help.

Jean could have done all that in the freaking jet to begin with. And what was The Phoenix' motivation anyway? I have only seen X3 once, not too eager to see it again. And being that X-Men: First Class didn't just focus one person I thought was one of the reasons why it was far better than the other X-Men movies. It's one of the biggest problems I have with modern American cinema is the focus on just one character rather than a team when it's a team effort. In the old 'Mission: Impossible' series, there was a focus on the entire group, and how they deal with missions, and when they have to improvise. Then they made the one with Tom Cruise, and...well need I say more. And that movie where the school gets taken over and the kids fight back. I don't know the name-the kid who can draw gets caught and killed. The re-made the movie with Patrick Steward as the main antagonist and just focused on one kid. Needless to say, it sucked. If they continue with movie from X-Men: First Class, if they introduce Wolverine, make him a loner, and as big as a character on the earlier X-Men comics (as much as everyone else).

I know the movie happened back in 2004 and I haven't really checked to see if this question was asked before, but couldn't Storm have stopped the flood in X2 with her wind control or water control or something.

There's always a what if or why didn't this happen in movies.  Would of loved to see Singer's version of X3 though.

X2 was my favorite, too much Wolverine/Jean ish in the 3rd movie for my taste.  Storm's haircut didn't help either. 

It has been said that Singer states that none of them we're powerful enough in the use of their powers to stop that much rushing water with the X-Men of Jean who had advanced (unconfirmed, possibly in the directors commentary?)

All of those great points I missed and noone (I'm specially disppointed in Aqua11500) spotted one of the most obvious flaw with Storm is her accent. Storms sounded too Hollywood and didnt have that erotic eastern hemisphere accent she was suppose to have. At least in the 90s cartoon Storm was somewhat convincing her upbringing in Africa.
 
Another thing that made me go "WTF?" was the scene when they were camping and Mystique goes into Logan's tent and after they made out then Logan pushes her off she starts morphing in different people then she stops at Stryker still giving a seductive look saying "What is it you really want?" I looked over to my girlfriend and whispered to her "Did this movie just hint Logan knows all there is to know about the Crying Game?"

Why was Rogue in Xmen movies, she did nothing in x2 or X3 except make ugly faces? 
 
Pyro attacking cops and the cops not shooting back. Yeah Logan get pwned to the shot in the head but soon as Pyro blasted the first set of cops the other cops should have opened fire.  It was a minority all of the cops all the cops would have opened fire using shotguns.

Magneto leaving Mystique on the floor butt-naked walking saying "She was so beautiful." The lady looked the same, aint nothing some blue makeup and a red cosplay wig can't fix.  
 
Storm could have landed the Blackbird without Magento's help. The lady just summoned the same tornadoes that starred in Day after Tomorrow and she can't conjure up enough wind to land a jet?  
 
The scene being chased by Jets why summon tornadoes, Why not just summon some lightning strikes on the Jets or missiles?  
 
Since when Pyslocke from X3 turns invisble like the dude from the TICK? Ya'll now who I'm talking that cute asian chick with the dye purple hair hanging with Arclight and Spike  
 
Also the missing deleted scene when Logan goes to Jean Grey and comments about the "Display of Power" and Storm rudeley interrupts saying "What display of power? The %^&%ing plane still got hit. It was a display of Epic Fail. Tjhe only display of power she can do is chuck cereal bowls at Cyclops. Both of you really suck and I can't believe I have to give up screentime for this. At least with me I got beat up by a dude who can move like Darth Maul. Mr Scary Weapon X gets beat up by a girls and this one can't even levitate a book without getting a headache but she is a class 5 mutant. I'm gonna get drunk with the Magnetic Jew and Smurfette."
