Forever Evil questions

So I'm only reading the main JL book and forever evil mini, not reading any other series, so obviously I aint getting the whole picture of the current arc but feel like I'm getting the main entree with no appetizers. My question is, for this that are reading the other books and tie ins like Arkham war, JLD, JLA, Rouges rebellions, Suicide Squad, etc, etc...

What is currently happening there, I didn't know that everyone got "trapped" inside firestorm until I read that here, I feel like that was a huge part of the storyline that wasn't focused on in FE and JL, so what other "key" events are happening that I might be missing out on, any word on flash/shazam/WW/ Constantine, etc, etc??

Any input would be helpful, I'm sure there's others out there that also might have the same questions as I do. Also WTF was up with Doom Patrol? Thought they would be more significant than what happened to them on the last JL issue.

I don't read flash nor know much about him, but how is he powerful? He's not strong is he? Thought he was only fast.

I don't get it, why is earth 3 JL "version" the crime syndicate stronger than the JL on main earth?
