She is suppose to be featured in Lazarus Planet Event which spins into an Action Comics backup story.

And the final story in Action Comics features Power Girl's return in part one of a three-part story by Leah Williams and Marguerite Sauvage spinning out of f Lazarus Planet. Action Comics #1051 will be available at local comic shops on January 24, 2023.

Bleeding Cool

I wonder if that will be a real return issue, or simply one that happens after her real return.

You think there will be a real return issue and not simply insert her into the Super Family?

My gut feeling is the latter. If she were one of those characters DC as an institution seems to like, or if she'd ever really had any live action or animated appearances, (for the record, she's never had a live action appearance---one of the few DC characters to manage that still, and had only one animated appearance, voiced by a sex criminal now in the slam. Yeah, that one didn't work out very well.

It just seems more likely DC will simply slot her in somewhere, likely the JSA and not the Superman Family, and never bother to say where she's been and why, or how she got back.

After a decade being in the wilderness I don't expect much so anything is at least something.

But wait, there's more! PG is evidently the subject of a crush by the Joker. Seems he's moving on from Harley in The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #1, in a backup story. Sure, its a backup, rather than the main story, but it's still panels with the Joker.

I guess after the back-up in Action Comics she might get a mini or maxi-series in the near future. It seems like DC is investing a lot of effort to put all of the Superman family back in the highlight.

I don't know if DC actually regards PG as being part of the Superman Family. They've left her off of most, though not quite all, of the Superman Family crossovers; aside from her scant interaction with the character in the nu52 it's been coming on two decades since PG last actually met Superman.

She obviously is, but she's been the least prominently featured member of the Family in decades. Even Krypto gets more love from DC.

So far there's the JSA miniseries, as it seems now to be, then also this, from the Lazurus Planet event. So, nothing yet it seems in a permanent fashion, but then the entire DCU minus the Bat and Super character not named Power Girl are really in a sort of flux, what with the corporate issues.

I don't know it down to the issue level, but it does seem that here at least she does have lines and some actual things to do apart from pose. We'll see.

This does seem to be a 12 issue maxi series rather than a straight ongoing as it initially seemed. But still, it might launch other books, depending on how tight DC is these days.

Earth Two Huntress seems to be key somehow to reviving the JSA. PG is in two covers.

In the new ongoing Justice Society title due out in November. This appear to be the classic PG, with Earth Two friends along with, including the Helena Wayne Huntress, and I think Dick Grayson as Robin.
