To Fans with love 2

After a long hiatus of Legacy reviews I thought I'd return for the last issue of Mike Carey's run and I must say we are losing one of the best X-Writers this series has ever seen and he ends it with such poise and Finesse that I grow misty eyed at the thought of losing him.PlotAfter discovering an old ally hidden in the depths of nowhere Rogue decides to do one last thing for Utopia that I feel will keep ties closer after the dread of schism, while trying to decide what move is best for her (whi...

The Calm 0

Yes i'm back and yes I skipped over another issue ( which in hindsight really wasn't all that anyway just another setup for this issue),  and yes I have to eat crow for my scathing review where the writer had told me himself it was the end but as I've learned in this quaint little life...Crow isn't that bad hell crow makes you stronger. So, yes those who have stayed in the long run this is the actual final issue and although it was still pretty awful I wouldn't have it end any other way.  Plot L...

Yes the joke is on you audience 4

Yes I skipped over two other issues but I got this one early and had to voice this I just had to. Now I'm not bitter, I'm not starting a flame war, "I ain't even mad" but ignore each review you've seen on this issue because this issue single handedly killed Gotham sirens. No they didn't graciously end it you know like; "were all friends in the end and even if we find ourselves on the other side of the law will have that respect for one another now and at least hold back when we throw our punches...

Something CLaremont could be proud of 0

I'm back to reclaim my Legacy as reviewer of Legacy well until the schism totally ruins it.... blast you Lowe!   Plot With Age of X over and Legion and Frenzy joining the ranks of the X-Men it seems.. can it be it tis! tis a teambook and you know how Carey is with team books if not you need to go back pick up his earlier run back when it was X-Men because this is how it should be done and you should be familiar with it.  My Opinion So after we left Age of X (Not sure what happened and will not f...

Siren Scorned 2

I'm backkkkkkkk! that's right you can't keep a good reviewer down or away from his villianess' and if i'd known it was this good i would of kicked myself into high gear to get this issue sooner. But lets get past reintroductions I'm here to talk about the wild Gotham Sirens.   Plot So after taking down her entire colleagues and bent on taking down the Joker, Harley continues her rampage and gets to her ultimate goal. Meanwhile Ivy proves why of all her vegetables she is an onion! (because of the...

A Mutants Christmas Carol 0

I heard about the end of Age of X and it's a huge relief but I still might not be able to review the issues for a minute so I'm still going to review some back issues for a minute. So tonight I'm reviewing the X-Men classic relaunch series. Plot So this issue deals with Rachel and her getting even with the beyonder; yes the jheri curled begin-all end-all villians. My Opinion The issue was a good way of trying to bring a close to the Beyonder and his Super Smash Brother-esque schemes. if you didn...

Shallow and Pendantic 2

No i'm not making a funny Family Guy joke with naming it this however I was thinking of American Dad (you know American Dad the show that tried to be political but said forget it and has become a phenomena ever since by mirroring the first 4 season of good Family Guy sans the forgotten good cutaways, while Family Guy tried being political for the the last 3 and never got the memo from AD about politics not being funny yet still tries to cram Macfarlane's views down our throats)  when I was givin...

Great Issue 2

To be honest this is my first Detective Comic to own I always assumed it was just another Batman series that I was a little too late to get it on so I just avoided it altogether, but my lust for Harley canon comics was just to strong to ignore so I did some digging and was really excited but iffy about getting this thinking it will be like classic X-Men issues where basically if your not up on one you'l be lost until the next event. But I was really glad to have picked this up aside from most of...

The greatest punch heard around the marvel universe! 2

So while my main review-e? is down for a bit I thought I would do some classic ish reviews and where else should I start then Rogue's initiation into the X-Men by one Chris Claremont.   Plot After infamously absorbing Ms.Marvel and not being able to handle the affects of the absorbition Rogue goes to the only Mutant who she knows will help her Professor Xavier (Before he became wallpaper on utopia).   My Opinion For those expecting a kick ass issue on the inside will be dissappointed the most ac...

Little brother should be watching 0

So after avoiding this series like one of those sad victims avoiding the vampires I decided to give it a try. My thoughts on it vol.2 should have just been brought back it would have been easier with that and Legacy and I'll explain why.   Plot The X-Men have finally got with the times and have hired themselves a PR person to make the world love them (If they only knew what they've been about since Scott took the helm) and with that he sends out a team to prove it what better way then to start f...

Eve of X 0

So I know I'm late on this but snow has been pummelng my area and getting to my LCS was murder but I still thought I'd give my opinion about one of my main comics.   PlotBlindfold gets a vision of an enemy who is hiding around the outskirts of utopia although she tells Rogue who in turns tells the other team she goes on her own to investigate the trouble.   My Opinion So with the Age of X event on it's way, Carey needs filler and what better way then to introduce the universe. Carey does this by...

Just keeps getting better 0

So last time we left our heroes (about 2 weeks for you 15 minutes for me) Harley had some time to think about her love for Joker and how when you think about it he's been a real jerk to her and she finally realizes it.   Plot Harley does something the Bat could well will never do kill the Joker. On her path she'll show her psychological prowess and everything it takes to take out the clown prince of crime  My Opinion I have to say this issue was Ridiculous...ly awesome (Hooray for Batgirl refere...

The girls are back in town! 0

Ah finally reading this felt like a breath of fresh air almost like the Dini days!   Plot After Zatanna figures out the entire plot of the kidnapping Catwoman was cooked up by Talia Al Ghul Zatanna gives Catwoman a propsition which makes Harley look back on her own memories.    My Opinion Well I have to go back for my hold out for the old sirens this ish was not that bad! Don't get me wrong I feel Dini only knows how to strongly convey the girls slippery slope friendship that he ironed out in th...

Another New X-Men irks me 0

After A great setup in the last issue of X-Men Carey brings this simple ish to a close.   My Opinion First thing's first, this is my first 5 rating am I fickle or what? Anyway previously in the pages of Legacy Omega Sentinel attacked her fellow mutant companions after the Nimrod virus spread through her body and messed with her functions. Which leads the X-Men trying to disable their former friend while Hellion is a little too enthusiastic about it. This issue was absolutely a amazing issue it m...

Needs to be polished 2

So after a long Hiatus Sirens is back but it brings nothing back from the Dini Days  Plot After Catwoman is captured by an aquaintance of Talia to get the true identity of Batman the Sirens remaining two sirens and honorary frenemy sirens Talia and Zatanna go through the dark belly of underground Gotham to save the rosetta stone of Bat-Secrets  My Opinion So I've given up all hope for the Sirens of Old it just isn't the same Dini's sirens were more like a sub-par chick-flick; women empowerment, ...

Carey Carey quite Contrary 0

Well as my title and score can give away this issue was a step up from the previous arc it's what I wanted in the serious characters interacting, using powers, (alas no fighting) but still an awesome read.  Plot After the destruction of San Francisco by Bastion and the X-Men's ability to blow it off for a trip to India, the team finally get to work and put in their abilities to tidy up the place until a returned (and hugely missed) Karima aka Omega Sentinel  malfunctions.  My Opinion Well this i...

Another Anthology ho boy... 0

Have you ever wondered what life is like on Utopia or what our Merry Mutants do on there down time well Nation-X tried to sum it up and gave us bupkis and now To serve and protect gives us the same thing...    Plot Long story short; days in the life of few X-Men   My Opinion So I walk in my LCS looking for things to catch my eye and I run across this; awesome cover, a misinterpreted flying Rogue and other X-Men in the awesome kick-ass pose we've been getting glimpse' of but then getting disappoi...

Farewell Children of the Vault 0

Well the bollywood arc concludes wrapped all in a nice trade worthy bow. Plot After Magneto and Rogue are kidnapped by the now civilization that is Children Of The Vault the remaining young mutants go after their predecessors. My Opinon I have to say this issue was nothing less of a light show but a decent light show your friends go see on a lazy afternoon with neat little tricks and music to go with it. When we last left  Rogue and Magneto were taken, Luz switched places with Indra's arranged ...

Not the best Issue in the bunch 0

The India trip continues as Rogue and the others are attacked by The Children of The Vault  My Opinion As we left the X-Men they were being attacked by the Children of the Vault a team that has had prior fisticuffs with the X-Men this time around there are new members while we learn more about them for those who do remember they were just established as scientific experiments that were superior to the Human and even Mutant race similar to Apocalypse (I smell Event fodder) I'm kind of glad Magnet...

This is the start of something Big! 2

Talia Al Ghul and Zatanna as I live and breathe! The guest of Gotham city arrive to help out our Anti-Heroines.  My Opinon As the issue starts out we get a glimpse of Catwoman's psyche and of her knowledge of Bruce but before we get to see more Zatanna arrives giving Catwoman a cryptic message to Ivy, now this is where it leads to an anti-climatic fizzle she warns Ivy not to interfere which leads her to interefering anyway (she's Poison Ivy if Batman can't get her to give up terrorizing Gotham w...

X-23... nuff said 0

While it seems like there's been a lot said on the comics I've picked up this week but ah one for this one couldn't do harm and I had to put my two cents on a character I've been following since before most were giving her due dates on her death scene.   Plot After Second Coming Laura needs time to cool off after all the killing she did back in X-Force and how she's finally gained her conscience, as we follow her through her journey talking to friends and mentors we learn Laura can't go back to ...

The closet thing to X-Men Evolution since X-23 0

Finally something more X-Related to be excited about. X-Campus is the retelling of the heroes as teens my imaginary pull list just got upgraded!  Plot The issue basically sets us up for the rest of the stories focusing mainly on Rogue while introducing the cast.  My Opinion This is a really good book seriously the only thing I can really think most naysayers would say is their too young or the art isn't serious enough, well look if you didnt like Evo you won't like this and if you don't like slo...

Into the garden of eden 0

Well the Ivy "Finds a Job/Gets found out on the job/is seemingly missing/hires an assistant/finds a zombie homing plant from outer space to make a new world ends" that was sub-par wild ride.   Plot After finding Ivy the 2 sirens are shocked to find her new date whose not so different from her former creator.   My Opinion Well this issue was an ok one at best I find myself wanting them back like in there first issues taking on random thugs together without the looking inside their self aspect. Th...

Children of The Atom Vs. Children Of The Vault 0

The X-Men continue their trip to india and their battle with the sentinels with a return of some old enemies.  Plot The team take on the Servidor (Sentinel) and decide to bring Luz with them.  My OpinionWell this was quite a good issue it had action, little romance, but most importantly the team that got me to love Carey; Children of the Vault, I almost squealed seeing Serafina again. If Marvel hadn't spoiled it for me earlier I would have put two and two together about Luz joining (come on a co...

To bollywood 0

After being confined to events back to back Mike Carey lets his pen flow free through the X-Universe again Plot Rogue, Magneto, Loa, and Anole, join young mutant Indra to see his ill brother in India  My Opinion This is the first Legacy not to mention Mainstream X-book I picked up since Second coming grew to large for my budget and I'm glad I waited because it's back to basics with my favorite writer Mike Carey. This issue started out with some mysterious group punishing some little punk chick, ...

You knew it would come to this 2

The reason why I titled the review this way because it's an issue where a team has to face their closest friend, Which doesn't seem not necessarily done to death but it seems like writers go to plot. Plot During the last two story arcs Ivy still hasn't come home and the girls finally go to rescue her. Meanwhile Ivy gets the rundown on S.T.A.R.S Labs and it's secrets, thanks to the help of her new assistant Alisa. While looking around they come into contact with a humanoid-plant alien hybrid.   M...

Scott Pilgrim take it or leave it 4

Well, I had a free pass to see an advance screening of Scott Pilgrim. I thought this might be worth wasting a few hours so I went and saw it. and I have to say Scott Pilgrim was a good movie. Let me first start off by saying I have never even read the book it's based on so I can't tell you if the movie closely relates to the film or not, but coming into the story I can honestly say I would be interested in reading it. The story is pretty much everywhere including in the movie description so ther...

Bye Soul Sister 0

So Gotham Sirens return with the second part of Sister Zero Arc it's pretty better this time around   Plot When we last left our anti-heroes they were being tortured by Selina's wacked out sis Maggie, who thinks she's possessed.   My Opinion Well unfortunately Pamela doesn't appear in this issue which is a shame she completes the Sirens trifecta we have daring cat, funny, naive clown, and Sassy plant hybrid it just works. Aside from that it was a good read, like I said before it brought nothing ...

Xploitating-Women 0

Now let me just say I saw this wayyyy before Bab's video and I didn't like it then, but I didn't want to be that Comic-geek who judges it without reading it, not to mention there was nothing I wanted in the new releases so I said what the heck this should be worth a few "great action moments"...I was wrong.    PLOT The X-Women go on a much needed vacation but just as the fun starts they find themselves attacked by an international group of- - - oh I don't know just some stock badguys with some s...

A 5th Opinion 0

Second Coming Being sold out again at my LCS I relent and pick up this; Second Coming Revelations Hellbound or stuff that doesn't really pertain in moving the main story along but it'll be good filler and added backstory to some characters who were gypped 3 events ago. But that latter was faster. It also includes a Magik backup which is just to fatten it up.  Plot Illyana Rasputin after being shot during a fight against the purifiers is taken into Limbo I think either by her blood or by the weap...

The Cat, The Nun, and the Quiet Psychopath 2

So after a long wait Sirens is back but it really didn't impress me.   Plot After Blackest night and the Black Skull fiasco Maggie Kyle is back and still not too right in the head. This time she wants to settle things with Selina once and for all. While Poison Ivy deals with a bitter ex-employee.    My Opinion I'm not going to sugar coat it this issue need to be better. As I read through i was expecting something (Action-wise) to happen it didn't now i don't like two-parter arcs but with sirens ...
