Remington was once, a very long time ago, an accomplished explorer in service to Britain's royalty. He traveled the world, from the mountains of Nepal to the rainforests of Brazil. He found treasures left by long dead pirates and lost cities. He was a child of adventure, with the human curiosity that is oh so oftenly ignored thickly implanted in his genes. He was in line to be knighted, back in his day. Unfortunately, he never was, for one day he discovered something that changed his life forever.
During one of his expeditions in South Africa, he and his group were resting in a small village on his way to a port, the natives told him of creatures that had been terrorizing the village recently. They believed the creatures to be the vengeful spirits of their ancestors, but Remington was not a believer in the supernatural and told the villagers he would track the beasts down. They thanked him with simple gifts, and he was off in the middle of night. After a long search, Remington eventually called it off for the time, so he and his men began their walk back to the village. However, a strange fog moved in abruptly, and the group got lost. After twenty minutes, Remington had lost two members of his party to the fog, and soon after that he was left alone. He did not fear for his life, but he did fear for the repercussions of his death. It did not take long for something to bash him in the back of the skull and drags him away.
When he awoke, he was in a cage, with only a dim candle within to barely allow him to see. Soon, vile, monstrous creatures rip the cage open and drag him out into the darkness. They bring him before their master, a robed vampire claiming to be a disciple of the red hand. The disciple gave a speech that Remington has long forgotten, and then a chant in some dead language. The creatures ripped the explorer's throat out before he could hear the remaining words.
Skills:
- Fencing- Remington is skilled with lightly weighted swords to a degree.
- Baritsu- The art of cane fighting.
- Marksmanship- He is a swell shot with most ranged weapons, though his favorite is the elephant rifle.
- Improvised H2H- When unarmed, Remington is quite resourceful, though not formally trained.
Abilities:
- Pain Nonexistence- Due to him being a corpse, he cannot feel pain. This means more than what people think.
- Limb Reattachment- Remington can reconnect his limbs and other body parts back to his body in the case they are blown or torn off.
Equipment:
- Elephant Gun- A weapon he built in India, he's continuously repaired and modified it over the years. It's current incarnation is a revolving triple barrel.
- Crossbow- For more medium range combat he built his own version of a classic weapon.
- Cane- Remington required a cane after his body decomposed significantly in order to walk. It's handle houses a small, single shot pistol.
- Sack- From his days in the British military, he carries his Crossbow inside, as well as several miscellaneous items.
- Top Hat- The ultimate head item to tip at a gal as you walk by.
Weakness's:
- Dexterity & Speed- He's not very fast, and he can't jump much at all. Mostly due to corpse stiffness.
- Weak Body- His body is mostly being held together and kept from further decomposition by his astral self. It doesn't take a lot of force to rip a arm off.
- Brain- The brain is the central point at which the soul resides, and therefore damage to it can damage Remington's connection to his body. A average gunshot to the forehead can sever connection for around ten minutes, for example.
