Embraced in an epic battle were two warriors that fallow the ways of the blade. The koga ryu’s legacy [Marauder] was facing a former Iga ryu ninja that goes by the name of Dai of the Hashi family. Dai was a katana aficionado. Using the sword as his weapon of choice brought him length advantage against Marauder who’s weapons are the dual twin daggers.
The man was also a shinobi so it was a no brainier that he was experienced intercepting shurikens, kunais or any other flying projectiles coming his way. Looks can be deceiving as for the naked eye Dai only appears to be wearing a standard English suit with nothing but a katana at hand.
But to the trained eye the truth is easily uncovered. The right collar area had a custom design. There was something sharp impaled into the fabrics- Most likely poison needles. Under the vest he wore a chain iron body vest for protection and as it can be admired under the rupture on his uniform and the flesh wound product of the early stages of the battle. The former Iga ryu hold a symbol which declare the alliance to another organization.
“Your reputation precedes you, Marauder.” Said Dai who acknowledge the koga ryu shinobi that stood before him.
“Tell me, Gaijin [Outsider] How does it feel to betray your own master?” Inquired Dai addressing Marauder’s past.
He fallowed his apparent guilt trip toward Marauder “Your grandmaster, your brothers and sisters from the Koga ryu all dead in one night- Dead in one night-- How sad.. Yet instead of avenging the death of those who care about you- You instead walked away without looking back”
Dai then added to the mind games “I wonder, Marauder- What is the punishment for betrayal in our world of shinobi?--” Fallowing the last words the opposing sword wielding shinobu using the tip from his katana he wrote the kanji: 不名誉 Fumeiyo [dishonor] on the pavement. A mild chuckle escapes his presence while he smiles looking at the once guardian of the koga ryu who opposed him. That is what we call in the west psychological warfare.
At first Marauder’s expression is steady and cold as if his mug had been crafted that way. But then a little cat smile spreads across his face.
Curious at the enemy‘s new expression of amusement Dai inquired “What’s so funny, gaijin?” [Outsider]
“Nothing, really." replied Marauder "Is just funny to me how you call me ‘Gaijin’ when in fact America is my home and you‘re from Japan.” Pointed out the amused ninja of the koga legacy.
Fallowing the angered face of the man before him Marauder then fallowed his talking spree:
“Dai. Anata wa yoku shaberu ne.” [You got a big mouth] Expressed Marauder. “You should of stayed quiet about the end of my Koga ryu family- Because of your mouth now comes the sad part-- Sad for you anyways.”
Marauder stands at ready position. The two daggers within Marauders grasp suddenly just energized in a menacing shine as delivers the verdict to his opponent’s fate: “Kisama wo korosu!” [I WILL KILL YOU!]
From the opposing man a mild gasp escapes which points out intimidation but soon his expression changes to a cocky grin before he retaliates the guardian’s comments “Your Japanese accent is terrible you big piece of coal.“ After that large insult at Marauder’s race Dai also stands at ready holding his sword with both hands as the two warriors prepare for a final showdown “I don’t care if you were Izangi-sama’s favorite protégée-- In order to kill me you first have to beat me.” Barked out the swordsman. Then with a loud roar the samurai just stomped forward in Marauder’s direction like a jealous enraged demon. Likewise Marauder bullets towards Dai flashing his tight grin as he stomps the ground each time he gets closer to collision. Both shinobi reach each other and before they strike a large thunder cracked the sky just before the collision. The gushing sound of blade ripping through flesh fills the air before both warriors come to a forced screeching halt. Both at the moment appear to be in good shape making the results of the duel known only to themselves.
Both warriors maintained their position but then one of them was hyperventilating. Blood suddenly drops down Dai’s lip and falls off his chin before it splashed on the floors. Dai had been wounded, but that was not all. The enemy shinobu was struggling to breathe.
At the other end Marauder was holding one of his gaggers in reverse position. On the end of each of Marauder’s daggers are a pair of whips which have a long reach when used. The end of the whip was wrapped tightly around Dai’s neck which was cutting the blood flow to the brain as well as the air intake to the lungs. Dai was suffocating to the point of desperation- Hoping to break free he used his katana and tried to cut the whip but with no success- In fact the katana had no effect at all.
The look of frustration and desperation could be spotted on the face of the disrespectful enemy ninja. Meanwhile on the background the voice of Marauder filled the empty night. “Don’t bother. These are made of maiden hair- It is unbreakable. They were my grandmaster’s mystic daggers. I bet you’ve heard of them in Koga ryu folklore. I have a little question: Do you remember what they can do?” Inquired rhetorically the Koga ryu ninja as Dai dropped on one knee gasping for air trying to loosen then wrapped whip off him.
I’ll take that as a “No”. Said Marauder.
Marauder could feel the vibe from the man’s lifespan entering a nosedive. “ I can feel that you don’t have much time left, so, long story short-- They are ancient instruments of sorcery- There is no escaping them- You will die here and now.” With a slight pull of the end of the whip the Iga rival would have been settled but then the unexpected occurred.
Marauder’s eyes drifted away to the right end of his eyelashes. The vibe of another presence was like stench on the air- hard to just ignore. Marauder was aware. “Enough hiding. I can almost dance to your heartbeat--Who are you and what do you want?” Inquired Marauder while the Iga ryu enemy ninja was slowly suffocating with a whip squeezing tightly around the neck.
