I gave the first three or four issues of Daredevil a try: the writing is excellent and I can see that the series is set to be a quality on-going, however, I'm still not interested in reading about the character. Am I nuts? Probably, but I just can't get behind the titular character; I'm not excited to read Daredevil.
I managed to track down a copy of Captain America #1 from a few months ago, and I'll probably start reading it later this evening after I get some studying out of the way. I could only find the first issue for the time being, so I'll have to reserve judgement on the book after I get, at the very least, the next issue.
I haven't picked up any of the Amazing Spider-man books yet because I'm still trying to decide which book I want to follow; I'm either going to back the new Ultimate Spider-man, Amazing, or Avenging. At the moment, I'm leaning towards Ultimate because I'm intrigued by the prospect of 'new adventures of a new spider-man'. Plus, Mile's slightly different powers are pretty cool and fresh.
Also, I'm still trying to narrow down an Avengers book. The first two issues of Ultimates were pretty good, but I have yet to check out any New Avengers or Avengers. How involved will Cap be in the New Avengers? Ideally, I'd like an Avengers book that has Cap at the forefront.
Edit - I also checked out Ultimate X-men. The book is fairly good, but a little too teenage-ery for my tastes, and I think the roster is a little boring. I can stomach one 'kid book' (Miles Morales), but any more and I'll probably start feeling ill.
