Check out Dark Horse's Baltimore series. They're intermittently released, and they follow Lord Baltimore, this WWI soldier that messed with a vampire king, and was cursed as a result, basically dooming mankind to perpetual and eternal darkness. If you're into dark horror comics, great art and story telling, and the ambiance of the early 20th century, it's definitely worth a look.
Fat dude with a 90's style rat tail... "let's make another symbiote like Venom but with more CRUDE, RUDE 'TUDE!" Generic cock rock metal guitar riffs play in the background while the fat dude lights his Newport 100 with a random collectors addition garbage Spider-Man 'limited release' with shiney gold leaf on the shoddily drawn cover.
Also noted in a few books out there (Spidey vs. Cap during the Civil War comes to mind) is Cap's ability of anticipation, he's always thinking two moves ahead of his opponents, and you can see that when Cap triumphs in hand-to-hand combat it's usually this characteristic that ends the fight. For evidence of this, also see his encounters with Taskmaster.
1. Joker - naturally, he's a part of Batman so he MUST be included.
2. Two-Face - Duality in comics done right.
3. Bane - His meteoric rise in comics makes him the Goldberg of DC.
4. Ventriloquist - Personal fave, I just think he's unique, dark, twisted, and whenever Scarface makes an appearance it's a must-buy for me. Plus, the coolest Black Lantern ever.
I honestly and truly hate Clint Barton more than any other character in comics today. The best thing to happen to his 'Hawkeye' persona was Bullseye wearing it in the Dark Avengers arc and pretty much killing everybody he came across.
