Professor Yavio was once a brilliant young geneticist. He believed that hidden within certain individuals' DNA were genes for superpowers and that they could be used to benefit mankind. His collegues believed him to be a nutcase. As a result, his funding stopped. Yavio sold some of his inventions to gather money to further study this 'alternate genes'. He discovered the genes could be brought out with vitamorph radiation. Despite the risk, he used himself as his first test subject. His dormant powers, telekinesis, came out. He then adopted a group of children with the most potential he could find and exposed them to the vitamorph rays to bring out their various abilities. The group was called the Y-Men. He trained them at the Yavio School For Freakishly Gifted But Otherwise Completely Normal Students.
