His dream of peaceful coexistence between mutants and humanity has long been the driving force for the X-Men. An immensely powerful telepath and scientific genius, Xavier was among the world's greatest masterminds.

Can you confirm this about Professor X for me?

Recently, one of my friends informed me that Xavier lost his powers, and is now a mutant hater. Is this true? If so, HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?! O_O

LOL!  Too funny! 
 
He did lose his powers during M-Day, but was one of the first to regain his powers (when  he was thrown into the M'Kraan Crystal).  His powers have been changed slightly after Bishop shot him in the head at the end of Messiah CompleX.  When he regained consciousness & learned how to control his powers again, he convinced the Acolytes to disband... but he certainly isn't a mutant hater.  And he does have his powers now :)
