Origin
Very little is known about Professor Hearn. A scientist, he at some point became friends with Mark Merlin and Elsa.
Creation
Professor Hearn was created by Jack Miller and Mort Meskin. He made his first appearance in House of Secrets #55.
Major Story Arcs
The Battle of the Titans
Hearn creates a robot, and invites Mark and Elsa to his lab to view it. When they are called down to the nearby mine following the discovery of a strange crystal creature, he attempts to pilot his robot against the creature and prevent its continued destruction of the surrounding buildings. He loses control of the robot when it grapples with the creature and apparently absorbs energy from it. He re-establishes control after the robot almost destroys a cabin and attacks Mark, and directs it to neutralize itself and a second crystal creature.
Powers and Abilities
Professor Hearn has no known superhuman powers or abilities. He is a scientist and roboticist of great skill who successfully created a functional robot.
