Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

While on a journey to the moon, two astronauts find a "dumpster" and open it, unwittingly releasing the evil witch Rita Repulsa from a 10,000 year sleep. Now free, Rita sets her sights on conquering Earth. Zordon, a wise being of energy, senses her presence and must capture her, like he did before. He tells his mechanical assistant, Alpha 5, to find five "teenagers with attitude." The teens chosen are Jason Lee Scott, Billy Cranston, Zack Taylor, Trini Kwan, and Kimberly Hart. They are teleported from the town of Angel Grove, California to The Power Chamber, Zordon's base of operations. Zordon tells them all they have been chosen to become Power Rangers. They all don't believe it however and leave. Before they do, Zordon gives them their morphers, the devices that allow them to morph, and their Power Coins, which activate the morphers. Each Power Coin has a different dinosaur on it: Jason is given the Tyrannosaurus, Billy is given the Triceratops, Zack is given The Mastodon, Trini is given the Saber-toothed Tiger, and Kimberly is given the Pterodactyl. Each Power Coin can control the zord of the ranger that wields it. The teens leave, trying to figure out a way back to Angel Grove. Rita, seeing them from her evil palace, sends "Putties", mindless flunkies made from putty. The attack the teens, which fight them off using martial arts. They were soon beaten and remembered something that Zordon and told them: If they hold up their morphers to the sky and call out the name of their Zord, they will unlock their Ranger powers. They each hold their morphers up and call out their Zord. The Rangers morph into the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and defeat the putties.

After the Rangers defeated every monster Rita has thrown at them, she realizes a monster is not the answer, but one of their own. With a special Green Ranger power in her grasp, she kidnaps Tommy Oliver, a teen from Angel Grove whose fighting skills equal Jason's. He passed all of Rita's tests and becomes the Green Ranger. Tommy fights the Rangers but soon defeats them easily. Soon, the Rangers get to Tommy underneath the Green Ranger, and overcome him. Jason, freeing Tommy from the spell and allowing him to join the Rangers against Rita, destroys the Sword of Darkness, the source of the evil spell. This allows Tommy's Zord, The Dragonzord, to combine with The Ranger's zords. Throughout the series, Tommy has a relationship with Kimberly, the Pink Ranger, and share alot of time together.

Rita tries to steal back the Green Ranger powers she thinks to be hers using special wax from a green candle after being defeated by the Green Ranger powers so many times. Tommy touched the wax when he was the evil Green Ranger, and Rita uses it to drain Tommy of his powers. He slowly began to lose his connection to the Morphing Grid, and couldn't morph. Jason entered the Dark Dimension where the candle was held in hopes of retrieving it. Goldar was guarding it, however, and had to fight him off. Meanwhile, Rita unleashed a powerful monster attack on the other rangers. In the end, Tommy loses the Green Ranger powers, but to keep Rita from getting her hands on them, he transferred them over to Jason, who wielded the Red and Green Rangers' powers for a while. After an attack that kidnapped Angel Grove High's students' parents, Tommy returned, taking back his Green Ranger powers and helping to defeat Rita.

Angered by Rita's continued failures, her superior, Lord Zedd, takes over, casting her away again in her "dumpster". He attacked the Ranger's with monsters made from real things, making it harder for The Rangers to defeat them. Zedd continues to focus on the Green Ranger Powers, which continue to weaken with every battle Tommy engages in. The Rangers see an upgrade. They learn to take on the power of Thunder, which also transforms their zords into Thunderzords. Finally, Tommy loses his Powers for good, and leaves the team.

Soon, the rangers find out of the creation of a White Ranger. That, the Power Transfer, which transferred Jason's, Trini's, and Zack's powers to Rocky DeSantos, Aisha Campbell, and Adam Park), and the return of Rita, makes things complicated for the Rangers. Rita slips Lord Zedd a love potion, making him fall madly in love with her and allowing her to rule alongside him. At the Power Chamber, the ranger's find out that the White Ranger is actually Tommy, commanding then White Tigerzord. Soon, Rita's brother, Rito Revolto, comes to Earth and destroys the Thunderzords, along with the Ranger's Dino Powers. They then seek out the guidance of Ninjor, who created the original power coins. He gives them New Ninja powers, along with new Ninjazords.

Later, a girl named Katherine Hillard from Australia moves to Angel Grove, and is put under an evil spell to steal Kimberly's power coin. This grants her access to the Ninjazords. The Power Coin in the hands of evil drains Kimberly of all her energy, little by little. This combined with her extensive training for her gymnastic career and her ranger duties left her exhausted. While staying late at the Gym, she gets tired and falls from the balance beam. It was Katherine who found her, releasing the evil spell. Kat inspired Kimberly to pursue her Gymnastic career. When Zordon said that her ranger duties were fulfilled, she left to pursue Gymnastics, leaving Katherine as the new Pink Ranger.
