I know that power girl is supposed to be supergirl (kara) from Earth-2, so why is her body so much more muscular then supergirls?
Was it ever explained why?

#2 Edited by Ms. Invisible (3292 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm not too sure if it has been explained or not, but if it hasn't I can see why some artists would draw Power Girl with more muscles because of her personality. She's pretty loud and angry. I think her body's meant to compliment her personality. And since you asked, here's my favourite drawing of her:

Awww, Oracle got dumped. But at least Power Girl's got muscles!

i thought it was because this is kara as a mature woman. thus bigger and stronger

Her boobs are like Superman's abilities; they've grown bigger in time.

my that the way they wanted to draw her

#15 Posted by kreewarrior (25 posts) - - Show Bio

Ive always wondered that myself. I think the artists wanted to give the clone something extra special and it just stuck.

#16 Posted by The WeatherMan (3214 posts) - - Show Bio

She could kill me with those any day. I swear. I would be completely and totally worth it :)

#17 Posted by GammaGirl (68 posts) - - Show Bio

it would take a girl's touch to treat those properly ^^

Maybe as supergirl grew up she decided to lift weights to get as strong as superman as Clark was getting older in their dimension and she knows she'll eventually have to replace him as the strongest hero on earth. lol

Lastly I really like the way they drew power girl she's totally better looking than supergirl in all areas.

I hate it when they draw her like a beast.

#30 Edited by Marshall Madness (248 posts) - - Show Bio
Steroids. Plain and simple. The boobs are fake. But nice though, prolly flew out to LA for the surgeons to the stars. Musta cost her a fortune.
#31 Posted by Erik (29813 posts) - - Show Bio

How can her breasts possibly be fake? How could anyone possibly cut her and then give her implants that he super healing would not reject?

#32 Posted by White Mage (18740 posts) - - Show Bio

Those are the biggest breasts I have ever seen in my life.  They should be ashamed of themselves.

Well, I think it was Ross who first drew her with a more substantial muscular definition.  Other artists just took it from there.  I suppose he wanted to put the 'Power' back in Power Girl.  Compare that with adjectives like Wonder or Marvel, both of which could easily describe any number of features of a female superhero be they looks, personality, or powers.  But power?  There's only one direction to go with that.

Howsit any different from ogling girls in Maxim, etc.? In a sense they are no more real than these characters. They are airbrushed, touched up, essentially drawn over to be looked at, and though they do exist, you have no more hope of meeting them then you do power girl. So I say, as long as you are just enjoying the female form (like any normal guy), and leading a normal life, i.e. not obsessing, or whackin off to em, I think its ok to go, "Whoa, nice rack PG!" You know, all in good fun, etc. ; )

Also, you know what? Who gives a $%!t if some people think comics are for nerds. Look around, look at pop culture today. Look what movies are kicking the most @$$ at the box office. THE WORLD IS COMING UP NERDS! You've got celebrities either confessing or pretending to be nerds now in order to, what, look cool? Hmmm....Maybe nerd isn't so synonymous with uncool anymore..... I posit nerd IS the new cool. (so there : P)
