Power Girl in Gotham City
What's Good?
I think Batman makes a great choice as a guest appearance. Now that Karen is reaching the spotlight with her company, I like how Batman reminded her about her growing profile. After all, he plays a dimwitted good looking billionaire. But like him, Karen is trying to make the world better with her company. As for the villain in this issue, he's not exactly a villain. He's just misunderstood. I mean, how would you feel if you were arrested because everyone assumed you were a super-powered terrorist on a plane? I rarely see this in comics since 9-11 despite how long it's been since, and that's a topic I rather avoid making personal.
I heard that Hendry Prasetya will be taking over Sami Basri's place in #27, and he's not that different form Basri's. The only difference I could find was PG's hairstyle, she's not wearing the red earrings, and her face is a little more round shaped. Either way, the artwork looks great, including with the guest appearance of Batman.
What's Bad?Not a whole lot. My only complaint is more PG as Karen Star since she's now on the radar. As Batman stated, she starting to be a huge media attention, and I would like to see how that plays out with her being Power Girl as well. After all, she has Agent Teman on her case.
Overall: Not a bad issue. I like that Judd Winick is doing simple stories with guest appearance while giving Karen Star a chance to shine as well. Can't wait for the next issue.
