    RULES

    • One can only select a Pokémon from each game, not from any other game. I.E. Play first gen, I can not choose from any other. I play second gen, I can not choose from any other etc.
    • If a Pokémon that appears first on one generation Pokédex while existing on other, you can only have him from the generation it appears on. I.E. Machop is on the second and third gen Pokédex, you can only choose him from the first gen since that is when it first appeared.
    • If you choose a Pokémon that evolves into something else in another generation, it will not be evolved.
    • You must choose 6 Pokémon
    • You can not choose the same Pokémon twice
    • Only choose Pokémon that can be caught or traded in that region
    • No gift Pokémon I.E First gen: Mew. Second Gen: Celebi etc.
    • Must choose a starter Pokémon so you know what set of Pokémon you fight against for the Champion
    • You do not have to use your starter Pokémon
    • All your Pokémon will be level 65 going into the battles
    • Having moves are optional
    • If you do choose to have moves, then you can only learn moves that are in a generation, first gen: Red/Blue/Yellow and they must be able to learn that move. I.E Golduck can not learn Flamerthrower
    • You will battle them continuously with the only break is to heal your Pokémon with your items
    • You will have 1 Potion/2 Super Potion/3 Hyper Potion/4 Max Potion/5 Full Restore/10 Full heal from the beginning of each tournament
    • When I eventually add the other tournaments, you can hold items. (I'll probably add them some time on Monday at the most if this thread takes off)

If rules are not clear. Ask me and I will elaborate. Moe may be added

@Supreme Marvel: Question: If one of the Pokemon I choose evolves into something not native to its original region, does it count?

For example, if my team's from Johto, can I have a Togekiss or a Mamoswine since they originated in this region via Togepi and Swinub? What about Eeveelutions? If my team's from Kanto, do I have access to the other Eevee forms other than the original three?

Good question. If you have an Eevee, in Kanto, you can not have Umbreon, Espeon, Glacieon or Leafeon. Or anyone I missed out on.

I'll add that to the rules.

Togepi, on the Game Pokédex is classed as Johto. So in the first gen, he can not be used.

    • Jolteon- Beats most of Lorelie's team as well as Lance's Gyarados
    • Alakazam- Handles Bruno's fighting types and most of Agatha's team
    • Blastoise- Beats Bruno's Onix and most of Lance's team with Ice Beam. Decent wall. Starter
    • Gengar- A back up special sweeper for Jolteon with it's array of different moves
    • Dugtrio- A revenge killer that blocks the inevitable electric attacks
    • Scyther- Handles all the psychic types with its high attack, speed, and Technician ability. My physical sweeper

    My team

Now here is some knowledge I will bestow on you. The league has at least ONE Pokémon that can take out almost 90% of the league. Lapras. If I chose Baulbasaur as my starter, then Lapras with the moves I would teach (and have taught it in the past) there is only Jnyx , Alakazam and Magneton that I could not take out from super effective hits. I would use my Nidoking to take out Jnyx and Magneton. And the rest can have fun against Alakazam since in this generation he only has two weakness. Bug and Ghost. There is only Lick that attacks as a Ghost move. The moves for Bug type are very weak and not worth it having.

This is also my team I got all to level 100 the third time I completed it Pokémon Red. I knew the game by then and found out any things.

    Venasaur

    • Sleep Powder
    • Razor Leaf
    • Leech Seed
    • Solarbeam

    Alakazam

    • Psychic
    • Dig
    • Recover
    • Psybeam

    Lapras

    • Ice Beam
    • Surf
    • Psychic
    • Thunderbolt

    Nidoking

    • Earthquake
    • Ice Beam
    • Rock Slide
    • Mega Punch

    Pidgeot

    • Sky Attack
    • Wing Attack
    • Hyper Beam
    • Whirlwind

    Magmar

    • Flamethrower
    • Confuse Ray
    • Fire Punch
    • Smog

I prefer not to go back r/b/y way of fighting. Remember wrap and fire spin, those moves made our rage building.

    • Meganium (Moves: Solarbeam, razorleaf, sunny day, body slam)
    • Misdreavus: (confuse ray, shadowball, psychic, screech)
    • Togetic: (safeguard, ice beam, reflect, double edge)
    • Ampharos ( thunderbolt, return, bublebeam, light screen)
    • Hitmontop: he is legal to use (Moves: triple kick, fire punch, detect, hi jump kick)
    • Donphan: (defense curl, roll out, mudslap, hyperbeam)

DUDE! WTH!! You never followed the rules!! In the next game which will be in the same thread you can choose generation 2 Pokémon for a team and moves thought in generation 2. Your selection is void.

    My Team

    Charizard

    • Rage
    • Slash
    • Fly
    • Flamethrower

    Gyarados

    • Thunderbolt
    • Hydropump
    • Reflect
    • Fire Blast

    Gengar

    • Confuse Ray
    • Hypnosis
    • Dream Eater
    • Psychic

    Nidoqueen

    • Ice Beam
    • Earthquake
    • Mimic
    • Reflect

    Electabuzz

    • Light Screen
    • Thunder Punch
    • Double Team
    • Psychic

    Dragonite

    • Thunderbolt
    • Ice beam
    • Rest
    • Fly

Charizard's sole purpose is to beat Blue's Executor, whatever it manages to take out along the way is a plus. He comes in handy against Bruno's fighting types for the sole purpose of his Fly attack.

Electabuzz will be dispatched to keep Lorelei at bay; the combination of Double Team and Light Screen do just enough to allow Electabuzz to KO with it's thunder punch.

Bruno doesn't stand a chance at all the combination of Gengar and Gyrados does this in quickly.

Agatha is at the mercy of Gengar with her poison types; Charizard and Dragonite should be more than enough to put them down.

Lance is tricky because of his dragon types. Gyrados, Dragonite, Nidoqueen and Gengar should be able to do the trick with a couple of full restores.

I was really sad when I realized that the mighty Curselax is gen 2, he would have the potential to solo... Oh, wait.

    So my "team" is...

Alakazam (Psychic, Recover, Reflect, Thunderwave)-saves Snorlax's PP, takes care of Bruno and a few pokemon who are somewhat strong physical attackers

Snorlax (Amnesia, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Rest)-destroys the rest with Amnesia setup

lvl 5 Bulbasaur (Tackle)-just becaues he's my most favourite gen 1 starter
