Favourite Pokemon from the original 150
2. I spell favourite because I'm Australian. <3
If you are like me, and the gameboy was massive when you were back in junior school, you'll remember getting the original Pokemon games. You know, Red, Blue and Yellow (though I consider anyone who made the decision to purchase Yellow in need of help). If you are like me again, you'll also remember wasting many, many hours on car trips and school excursions.
Anyway, reminiscing aside, who was your favourite pokemon from the original 150?
For me, it was Ninetales. I loved Ninetales so much from the moment I saw it (if I remember correctly, didn't Koga the Gym Leader have one?). I didn't care if it wasn't the most powerful Fire type around, it could learn the most versatile moveset and it just looked freaking AWESOME.
you could always check the pokemon forum and see if there's a thread already made.
Blastoise.

@RainEffect: Here he is
Now imagine seeing that smile at night in a dark forest.
Same here. When I was nine years old this was the coolest thing in the entire game for me.

Mine was Gyrados.
Turning a useless Magikarp into a Gyrados and destroying everything in my path (that wasn't electric) always felt like the sweetest payback
An even sweeter payback was taking that lame-ass, ugly as sh*t Feebas and turning it into a Milotic. It always took so much work, but the end result was worth it.
@CitizenBane: I'd pick Mewtwo, Mew, Jolteon, Dewgong, Arcanine and Sandslash.
but it depends on the battle, I often resort to using Zapdos, Scyther or even Charizard when it comes to dealing with grass or ground type Pokemon.
case in point, ground types can learn rock type moves and can have pretty brutal attack ratings in general. but, the classic Rock Throw or Rock Slide aren't 100% accurate so you usually still got a fighting chance. if I were up against Lance's Aerodactyl from Pokemon Stadium 2 then that would raise an eyebrow. Ancient Power is nasty.
@CitizenBane: in classic Red, Blue, Yellow and Pokemon Stadium 1, there were no such thing as dark types so it didn't matter in those games. however I see your point, thing is if you teach Mewtwo Shadowball (like I did in Crystal) combined with held items and such, Mewtwo will hurt Houndoom as much, if not more since Mewtwo has monstrous special, HP and speed ratings. not to mention the fact that your special (defense only if in Gen2) sharply increases if you use Amnesia.
@CitizenBane: haha yeah it was a great feeling to finally get that pay off for all the grinding you do to get them level up to evolve. I'd use mine against the legionaries just for spite. Magikarp/Gyrados was the Rocky of the Pokemon world, nobody thought he was worth the time then boom... you got a champ
@Supreme Marvel: I actually wished Golduck could learn Psybeam, if that's what that attack is in the picture, usually it is a different color, more like Kadabra's.
but we had to settle for Confusion and Disable.
@Mr_riddler: I honestly don't see that many similarities between Mewtwo and Frieza other than their skin color and their telekinesis. Mewtwo could create thunderstorms with his mind, where as Frieza on the other hand could blow up planets but he had to charge up a life force energy called Ki to do it. lets not forget how Mewtwo needs to use his mind to communicate.
