Ash has a dream of becoming the greatest Pokemon master ever. He goes on great adventures with all of his friends. He loves pokemon and would never hurt them. He is the anime counterpart of Red from the games. His name in the japanese version of the anime is Satoshi, obviously named after the Pokemon series creator Satoshi Tajiri and his surname from the english dub comes from the english slogan "Gotta catch em' all!"
Jessie is one of of the Team Rocket trio that follows around Ash Ketchum and friends in the Pokémon anime, usually trying to steal Ash's Pikachu, but always fail.
Ash's best friend who's traveled with him for the longest time that happens to be the Pewter Gym Leader that has an affinity for cooking and women.
The Tomboyish Mermaid who is the only female to travel with Red for the longest period of time and happens to be the leader of the Cerulean Gym.
Normal-type Pokémon, It evolves into Persian starting at level 28. Meowth has two regional variants one in Alola and another in Galar. A Galraian Meowth evolves into a Perrserker instead of a Persian.
Pikachu is an Electric-type Pokémon. Pikachu is one of the most recognizable Pokémon in Generations I-VI. Pikachu is mostly well known for his Thunderbolt like tail and his polka dotted cheeks. Pikachu is owned by Ash Ketchum.
Gary Oak, the grandson of Professor Oak and Ash Ketchum's life long rival. He is the anime counterpart of Blue, Red's rival in the games. In the original japanese version of the anime, his name is Shigeru, most likely named after Shigeru Miyamoto, who is a video game designer from Nintendo. After the Johto silver conference, Gary decides to quit being a pokemon trainer and instead becomes a pokemon researcher, just like his grandfather.
This is the final form of Ekans and it's very poisonous, it is mainly used by Jessie of team rocket.
Butterfree is the last stage of Caterpie, a caterpillar-like bug type Pokémon. Using its compound eyes, it can execute psychic attacks.
Bulbasaur is a 'seed' type Pokemon and is registered as #1 by the Pokedex. Bulbasaur is one of three beginner Pokemon offerend by Professor Oak.
When Ash reaches the Professors lab for his new pokemon, he finds that the original 3 that were up for 'adoption' have gone. Because of this Professor Oak decides to entrust Ash with the Pokemon Pikachu. He also gave Ash his Pokedex.
Lapras is a rare, but loyal Pokemon.
Poison Bee Pokemon It is Extremely Dangerous it's posion barbs inject enough Toxin to take down a Gyrados.
Beak Pokémon It is the final Stage of Spearow, it has the ability to look for food using it's sharp beak.
A Water type pokemon.
A large blob that evolves from Grimer. It smells like raw sewage and if it touches a plant with its slime the plant immediately wilts. It has enough toxicity to make a clean lake rancid with one drop of its sludge.
Poison Pokémon. Nidorino evovles into Nidoking via Moon stone. It foucses more on power rather then relying on his poison

Venusaur is the 3rd Pokemon registered in the Pokedex and is the Final Form of Bulbasuar. Venusaur first appears in the tv show on a Episode titled Island of the Giant Pokemon
#006 Charizard is a dual-type Fire/Flying Pokémon. It can mega evolve into Mega Charizard X or Mega Charizard Y. Mega Charizard X is a dual-type Dragon/Fire Pokémon. Mega Charizard Y has the same typing as Charizard, Fire/Flying.
